Regardless of what happens here on out the rest of the season the option of going with a new OC or not needs to be evaluated. That evaluation has to be done by coach orgeron as it is his arse on the line. A few weeks ago I would have thought no way this would even be a consideration for coach orgeron

We'll be top 5 if we finish 11&2. And though we should all be happy with a fantastic season and record considering our schedule we all want much better results from our offense. We have to get much better there, changes must happen. Scheme, personnel, whatever figure it out coach or LSU will be looking for a new head football coach. You can do it.

It will be the perfect offseason for LSU fans. 11-2 with a top ten finish and a pretty much guaranteed preseason top ten ranking. Will spend all offseason crying about how much we suck.
Nah, the perfect offseason would be to fire O and pay two buyouts to have the 108th ranked offense in the country at the end of next season. Because all the frustration stems primarily from the lack of consistency on offense.
That’s the problem. We either have to think the team is all world or sucks. There is no in between. I know it gets beat to death, but team we are chasing doesn’t have this mentality. BAMA dominates and then reassess how it can dominate even more. They bring in Freshwaters and Sark after Darks if they think it will help them dominate.
Why not try this for 1-2 seasons? What is the potential fallout from bringing in a top name offensive coordinator? We wouldn’t even consider this on the defensive side of the ball.

Still paying CLM a bucket full of money, Canada got a nice fat check for not coaching, no way LSU will pay another coach for not coaching: reference WBB coach being retained despite a horrible W/L record.

Extension(s) are already in the works for O and couple assistants.
Get used to the situation. Get win #9 this weekend followed by a good bowl game which anybody would have taken preseason

OU is in line to make the playoffs and fired their DC in season.

In the past this would be the point at which the suspect coach gets a "great opportunity" at another program and we all wish him well in his future endeavors.

Riley didn’t hire stoops. He inherited him. Kind of like Jimbo and miles.
Big difference. O chose SE against the will of the fan base. He believes the issue is with the O-Line. He is not firing the guy he chose after a really good season. He believes he is on the right path. If he goes 11-2, you really can’t argue with him. He improved the team against a tougher schedule.

This has been a somewhat unexpected and very good season. The upset has to do with what appears to be the same old offense and folks are tired of it. It’s that simple.
SE is a good, loyal Tiger, but this offense won’t get any better and most objective fans can see it. That’s reality and if you truly want the program to move forward, we must get better on the offensive side of the ball.

Stoops saw the writing on the wall and hired Riley
Yeah it was after an 8-5 season but they won 2 bcs bowls(including that Bama win) in 4 years before that

I don't think anyone should get fired, but I do think they should move SE back to tightends and hire a high quality OC.
I can see Coach O making this move.
