Just so you know how it works. Alleva didn't suspend Wade. Maybe you can relate this to your own work situation, if you do something stupid, you get fired by your boss. If you do something that can hurt the entire organization, all the 'Boss' does is deliver the message. Compliance, School Admin, HR, PR the board, etc all weighed in on this. A decision was made and Alleva was given it to deliver. I know everyone is looking for someone to blame, but Wade is the one with the blunt of the blame here. Period.

Oh bullshite. If Alleva had any sense at all he would have issued a statement supporting his coach and let it fade.

Then they should’ve fired Wade or ridden with him.

Alleva and FKing are cancers and are destroying the athletic program.

Alleva basically said: “yep he’s guilty.”

Bill Self has a text message trail that's public knowledge about trying to pay a player.

Sean Miller's wiretap conversations were far worse than Wade's.

Did Kansas and Arizona's administration buckle under pressure?

AD is basically a political position. All that really matters is approval rating.

Alleva is what his approval rating says he is. If he wants to change it, he has the power to act.

Everyone, including his “bosses”, are looking to him for direction as it relates to athletics. He’s in charge.

"LSU will be making no comment until the results of the investigation. Geaux Tigers!"

That's it.

the OP is completely correct. i don’t quite understand the melt on this board. Wade’s on tape offering to pay players and their families, and the AD calls Wade in to discuss and Wade balks, and this board thinks the AD should support the coach?

It casts doubt on why he was able to land multiple 4 and 5 star recruits to come here from various distant states.

This thing is a disaster, and the administration did what it had to do. This is a 5-alarm disaster and the AD is getting in front of it.

I dislike Alleva as much as anyone, but he did the right thing here.

my job doesn't require me to effectively break the law (if not criminal laws, the laws of the job i perform

if that was my job, the last thing my employer would want to do is have me speak him/her when a potential violation occurred

the wire summarizes the problems with this

As the boss,Alleva... "doesn't the buck stop here" saying apply to him. He should have known or at least suspecious of what was going on with Wade and especially with all the top recruits suddenly coming to LSU.
Alleva should be fired either for neglecting his job as a supervisor or knowing what was going on and doing nothing about it until it was brought out.
