Don't let facts get in the way of this little chicken little woah-as-me piss and moan end of days fest.

quote:11-2 =/= 12-2. Close, but not quite equal. And, yes, who you beat does matter. In '07, we beat the major West rival (Auburn) and lost to an also-ran (Arkansas). In '08, we beat the also-rans and lost to the major West rival (Auburn, because we were on the road and got absolutely hosed by the refs).
do people realize that in '06 Russell had the same "underachieving" record that Flynn won a championship with in '07?
The '06 season was not as good as the '07 season, but it was not JaMarcus' fault (imo).

Sorry, I don't think that JL has SEC stuff.
Perhaps, but I'm glad JL decided to remain at LSU, I think LSU football was fortunate to have had him here last season, and think he has paid his dues both mentally and physically to be a positive asset of the LSU football program.

I'm happy that JL will be along for the ride and by the 3rd QB. For me none of this is personal...it's about winning, that's all most of us care about.Of course some have their racial motives and all that BS. For me it's about LSU and keeping the programs on top.

The 2006 team didn't have the opportunity to play in the SECCG, despite having the same record (overall, SEC and even SECW) as the 2007 team. In '06, LSU lost AT UF and AT Auburn. In '07, LSU lost AT UK and at home against Arkansas. So, I'm not sure how each team's regular season accomplishments differ all that much. In fact, the '06 losses seem to be better losses if there is such a thing.

No shite!
Come gameday its just the look of "wonder".

When has JJ ever been a "Spring Wonder"?
I don't think I heard anything positive about him last Spring.
Lee was the Spring Wonder last year. . .before that, it was Richard Murphy.

it's amazing the amount of shite that's made up and repeated around here...

And this is one of the biggest lies I've seen on here. I went to last years spring game for one reason...to watch the QB battle. JJ had the very worst spring game I believe I ever saw...and Miles saw it too and was very frustrated along with JJ...everyone there was very disappointed in the performance...if it wasn't for the RBs and the OL, it would have been a total BUST!

quote:Where have you been.... Roaad quit picking and choosing you were here last year. We heard how much both JJ and Lee had improved, how great of shape they were, how much they had improved throwing the ball. It hasn't been just Lee, Jefferson has had the same rave reviews.

you were here last year.

In the Spring, the media was extremely critical of JJ.
quote:Not last Spring. You have your training sessions mixed.
It hasn't been just Lee, Jefferson has had the same rave reviews.
The Spring Hero last year was Lee. So much so, that most on here thought Lee had passed JJ. The only thing I remember anyone saying positive about JJ last Spring, was that he had matured as a person.

Not really. Lee was average. JJ was abysmal. I guess in comparison you could call that a "wonder."
Neither were lighting it up.

He looked like a deer in headlights.
Sorry but I don't see some light bulb going off after 3 + seasons. JJ has a 4 to 5 bad games for every good game. He is highly inconsistent and terrible at reading defenses. We won DESPITE his presence.
Maybe he received cell therapy for his brain in the offseason. Just like TJ might win the SEC next year.
It may click with him. I am not writing anyone off until the season starts. He definitely needs improvement, but possibly he just took a lot of time to get there.
Hopefully whoever the QB is next year will be solid enough for LSU to fulfill their potential, which is extremely high.

You and Roaad are dead on. This assumption that JJ is gonna suck is freakin' ridiculous.

quote:I didn't say they differ all that much, I just said they differ. You also had not (at that time) specified regular season.
So, I'm not sure how each team's regular season accomplishments differ all that much
quote:They are, but the "better wins" of '07 trump that. If we beat Auburn at Auburn in '06, we win the West and quite possibly the SEC (and thus the National Championship, of course). But we lost the "big one" in the West (again, not JaMarcus' fault, imo), so no West Championship, no SECCG and no chance for SEC or National Championship. I credit winning the big one more than I penalize losing the little one.
In fact, the '06 losses seem to be better losses if there is such a thing.
