This is from the LSUsports.net official online roster by state of hometown...
Louisiana 42
Florida 12
Georgia 10
Texas 8
Alabama 7
California 4
Illinois 3
South Carolina 3
Tennessee 3
Maryland 2
Missouri 2
North Carolina 2
Virginia 2
Arizona 1
Dist. of Columbia 1
Idaho 1
Indiana 1
Michigan 1
Mississippi 1
New Jersey 1
Ohio 1
Oklahoma 1
Oregon 1
Pennsylvania 1
Quebec (Canada) 1
Total 112
Louisiana 42 (37.5%)
Other SEC states 47 (42.0%)
Other states 23 (20.5%)
Tigers have always recruited nationally, but with the transfer rules and NIL being a huge factor, I believe this is likely the lowest percentage of Louisiana players in history. It's good to have 30 players from the highly populated/football-talented states of Florida, Georgia, and Texas.

Interesting stuff and it would be interesting to see what % of players were from LA historically.
Without looking at the whole roster, the starters in '19:
5 on O (Chase, Jefferson, Marshall, Cush, and Clyde)
6 on D (Lawrence, Shelvin, Patrick, Divinity, Stingley, and Fulton)
So basically 50%.

Perhaps the most surprising number to me is that there's only 1 from Mississippi. Seems like we've always got at least a handful of their best recruits on our roster.

Yeah. This year has fewer from LA and MS but historically more than usual from FL, GA, TX, AL although FL, GA, and TX have almost always provided key players.

Exactly what I was Thinking?!?

It's also interesting that there's no one from MO or AR. I wouldn't mind getting more guys from MS going forward.
