re: Follow-up on last week's "complain about the stadium" thread

I went to the ATM bama game this weekend and a few observations I had from that game. First, we should never complain about this game being moved to November. College Station is very hot in early September, so I am glad we don't have to travel there. I found it interesting that there is very little piped in music. They have lots of advertising for their own sporting events and most of the video was recognizing some sort of achievement. Their band is good at what they do but there is very little crowd involvement. Also they had scrolling scores of other games on the scoreboard with very little advertising. They also had continuous stats on the bar screen in between the decks. But with that all said it wasn't the atmosphere I was expecting. It may have been do to it being a day game, but I would equate the experience more this a LSU-arkansas day game than an LSU-bama or floriga type feel.

I LOVED the band halftime show.
Me too...... last year......... and the year before that............ aaaaaand the year before that. Every week it's 50/50 on whether or not we get Latin Flare or The Beetles.

I wish the banner boards would run more scores and less ads
You would think the advertisers would want scores and such shown to have a reason for people to pay attention... I don't even pay any mind to that board any longer. If I was an advertiser I'd be pissed.

AT&T cell phone service was a little better this week. My understanding was that last week the lack of service was a big topic in the AT&T offices. No service in the stadium is nothing new, but they have invested in new towers and expected better. A tower rep sitting behind me says last week they were only able to handle 600 calls at a time. This week service was spotty but better after some tweaking on the towers, and my understanding is that they will be working on the problem again this week. So we should expect better going forward in the season. We'll see.

the banner board from my POV showed more of the same ads that are already to the right and left of the board. Sometimes it said "geaux tigers" or some other short phrase like "get loud" "make noise". My phone (AT&T) was eating battery like crazy every time I tried to check scores, so I was hesitant to keep using it and run out of battery before halftime even started. I saw the scores run across the banner ONE time.
as for AT&T phone service, there were considerably less people at this game than at the game last week. So I am not surprised it was better service.

the speakers are the best you can get, it's just properly tuning it, the main issue with the sound system is that the sound is coming from one point which makes the NEZ loud and the SEZ decently audible
The sound has always come from only one end of the stadium

Why do we have Mike Ditka brand concessions in Tiger Stadium?

"Blurred Lines" was definitely played.
The ads on the scoreboard are embarrassing, and I boycott them for taking 50% of the jumbotron.

Whoever the DJ is who chooses the music and whoever gives that person approval should commit a murder suicide. You are ruining Tiger Stadium. Might as well go to a fricking Hornets/Pelicans/XFL game for shite like that.
OK...so, what music would you have piped in?

Second, we do a Latin show every year, but we haven't done a Beatles one in years.
Why? Do we owe some Latin dude royalties on routines or some shite? There's no imagination or creativity in the routines. It's like the people in charge think the stadium is filled with people in their 70's. My favorite was last year when they busted out the routine with the music from a 1920s musical. I know it's technically done well but it's boring as shite to listen to and watch.

What's the deal with being unable to bring small bags into the stadium? I used my small military Camelback for my beers while walking around for many hours...as I done vs Ark 2 years ago with no issues. The guy at the escalator told me my only two options are to bring the bag back to my car (too far), or leave it under the stairs with the rest of the bags...arrrr! Well, it was gone after the game. If y'all see a small camo backpack with "GUIDRY" printed on it, Ill give a reward. Sorry for the rant, but its my deployment bag from 2002 :(
Yes, it was empty.

This 100 times. I was very disappointed in Kyle Field last year when we played there. Tiger Stadium continues to spoil us. Kyle Field is not even a top 5 atmosphere in the SEC in my humble opinion.

The crummy opponents are one reason for the paltry crowds against these Ooc teams, the shitty game production/cell service is the other. The scroll in the few times they rolled only showed top 25/sec scores. Hard to believe but people do have interest in some of the other games going on. Hell you can't even check stats on your phone without draining half the battery.

I sat in the WU for the first time. Lower bowl peeps, don't feel sorry for them. Better bathrooms, better concessions, and the view was surprisingly good.
