FAIL!!!! That's what you get talking to Ole Miss fans. Mauck threw a pick 6 on the first play of the game and they thought he was better?

What did Eli have to work with at Ole Miss? We had how many first and second round players? Ole Miss talent wise should not have been close to us but nearly won.

Besides the Pass to Green against UGA (After Mauck fumbled 2 minutes earlier) give me a Mauck moment to support your theory?

The fact that Mauck had a much better passer efficiency rating and a much higher completion percentage than Flynn.

The better QB is the one that was more consistent over the whole season. (Mauck with the much higher passer rating and completion percentage)

Mauck didn't have many huge plays, but he was the better QB.

If that is what you want to use I guess your mind is made up. He did all those things and set the TD pass record too I believe.

In the big games, give me Flynn. I want his stats in those games.

Ok, I consider Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Auburn, Alabama, and Ohio State our big games from 2007. (That Flynn started)

He played great against an over-matched Ohio State team and pretty well against Virginia Tech and Auburn. But every other big game he played fair to poorly in.

Other than the BCSNGC, which is a big game of course, but other than that game, I don't see where you're getting this notion that Flynn was amazing in big games.

I want which ever is "whiter" cause he is obviously smarter and a winner. Would make less mistakes also.

One could argue that Mauck was more valuable because had he gone down LSU had no real back up.
When Flynn went down he had RP to step in and win us a game.
Had Mauck gone down we were screwed, we basically saw a similar team the following year that struggled with Randall as QB.

Flynn.

Mad to them both, though.

2003 Oklahoma's defense>>>>>>>>>2007 Ohio State's defense. Not even close.

Wrong.

Ohio State's 2007 Defense was better than OU's 2003 Defense. You're right though..it's not really close.

NCAA:

Ohio State 2007 Defense: Allowed 3.64 yards per play & 233.00 per game
(Defense completed season ranked #1)

Oklahoma 2003 Defense: Allowed 4.13 per play & 259.64 per game
(Defense completed season ranked #3)

Championship Games:

Flynn 2007: 19 of 27 - 4 TDs 1 INT, 174 yards

Mauck 2003: 13 of 22 - 0 TDs, 2 Ints, 124 yards

Yeah, because Ohio State really went against those high powered Big 10 offenses that season.

In a tied game situation....with a TD pass needed, I want Flynn in the game...That kid is clutch, many great, tough situation passes...Mauck was a great QB also...Flynn and Mauck were two of the best Qbs in LSU history...they both have rings....

they were both decent QB's, and have rings, but were not the two best in LSU history.

This I disagree with. But, they both had great character and leadership and that certain "something", that was able to spark their teams. Honestly, I'd take both of em..

tough call.
but I'd have to give a very slight edge to Flynn because he seemed to through a prettier pass than Mauck, imho.

Depends on one's perspective of "the best QB's in LSU history." Are we talking top 10 starting QB's, any QB to ever play, etc. Just on the top 10 starting QB's point, I think fans would have a hard time keeping both Mauck and Flynn out of the top 10 simply because they have rings. I see them being ranked between 6-10 but I would definitely have a hard time keeping them out of the top 10. So, to say both are two of the best to ever play at LSU is not so far fetched.
