I saw someone on the Rant say to wait and see how LSU does against "A real SEC Defense", So I figured I would take a look at some of Florida's numbers...

These are the teams they have played with their high powered offenses that Florida shut down..

Team / Total Off / Pass Off / Rush Off

UMass / 126 / 90 / 125
Kentucky / 102 / 105 / 68
N. Texas / 119 / 89 /112
Tenn / 88 / 87 / 63
Vandy / 123 / 119 / 91

The only team they played with at top 100 Offense beat them ( Tennessee ) who comes in at #88, LSU currently sits at #81 Total Offense.

Tennessee hung nearly 500 Yards on Florida

Another side note, With Florida having some injury issues between the Tenn game and Vandy, they may have fell off on offense.

Vandy sits ranked as the #73 Total Defense with a 409.2 game average allowed. Florida managed to put up only 236 yards.

This may be a good sign of a big win Saturday or these numbers could basically equal shite and we could be in for a long season. Ill hope for the prior. Geaux Tigers

LSU's o-line is banged up but so is Florida's d-line, so if that's a wash, I like LSU's chances.
Some people are saying LSU is gonna roll. I don't care if we win 2-0, as long as we win. Imagine the momentum it will build to get a w in the swamp.

The only one who thinks that their team is prepared for LSU is a delusional UF fan. They have 2 DL out for this game, and they haven't been lighting it up on offense.

We have the one of the best, if not the best defense in the country, and our offense has been de-Les'ified. If we find a weakness, we'll step on the gas peddle, unlike the last 10 years.

This may not be an easy win, but I feel very confident that our team should be able to get into a groove and win by at least a touchdown if not more.

These people are annoying. First off, Mizzou isn't some talentless bottom of the barrel WAC team. It's not a great team, but it's still a major program with athletes and recent success. 600+ yards against any power 5 team is extraordinary. Second, under Les the past few years, LSU wasn't dominating ANY teams like that, much less an sec opponent.

For Sure. Honestly, Our DBs against their WRs with the QB's they have, We could very well shut them down passing, White on Callaway will be fun to watch. Ive not been impressed with their RunningBacks. If we see as much progression in our offense this week as we saw it progress between the last 2 weeks We could be in for a easy victory ( 28-10 type of win ) Need to win the Turnover battle

Yea, Myself along with PLENTY of other fans can remember not so impressive wins against those bottom of the barrel type teams in the last 11 years..

Honestly, even if LDR is back this could get ugly if Ivey isn't back and Brantley is too banged up to go-- LDR may or may not have the arm to actually be effective against a legit SEC team-- that wont matter if we're starting 2 260 lb DTs.

Can anyone confirm this? Guice could break the single game record if this is the case hahahah

We've been able to run the ball on their defense the last several years. It'll be interesting to see how this zone blocking scheme will do against them.

Year UF Run Def rank Rush yards
2015 17th 221 yds (5.4 ypc)
2014 12th 195 yds (3.9 ypc)
2013 33rd 175 yds (4.5 ypc)

UF had a top 10 defense each of the last 3 years.

If we can run the ball, we will win.

the little table looked much better while I was typing it

Hope y'all can understand

No it looks good.

This year from what I understand from looking at the Florida Board is they are not doing well with their Dline. Im fixing to study up on their Linebackers

Big upvote. Like that info in the OP. It is funny to me around here every year over here hearing about how incredible their defense is, then, as pointed out, we run the ball well on them.

LSU currently sits at #81 Total Offense.

One little sidenote I might even add is that that ranking is derived largely from four games of the Miles/Cameron muck that was trotted out. If the Mizzou game is a real indication then our true worth is actually much higher than #81.

My wife is a Gator fan and we were with a group of friends last Saturday. When the Vandy game was over and before the Mizzou game started she said that next Saturday will be a battle of two bad teams. I said we'll see, there might be only one bad team on the field in Gainesville. She laughed while I nodded with confidence.

Maybe I'm setting myself up for disappointment but I firmly believe we could go in there and throttle their asses on their home field.

Had a look at the Florida board, hard to find anyone there that thinks their team has a chance.

I listen to sports talk radio here in jax on the way to work. They said the whole starting defensive line maybe out and del rio at QB is a game time decision. Normally id be like cool but we have lost many games when it seems like many starters are out.

I'm a Nole, so I'm biased. But, this is what I have observed from UF so far this year.

Strength is their D, especially the defensive secondary. But, they are definitely banged up. Depth is a problem. And, the biggest problem with their D is their offense stinks so the D has to be on the field too much.

The key to victory against them is the same as it was last year. Their weakness is their QB. Stuff the run, pressure the QB, make him beat you with his arm. Neither QB has shown he has the ability or the receivers to do that.

Sounds like a recipe right up Coach O's alley. Smack them early and never let off the gas.

Aggressive, attacking defense. Nothing passive. Pure aggression.

Like I said, I'm a Nole. And, I'm an optimist. I expect LSU to roll. I don't think UF will score 10 on you.

Caveat: Hurricane Matthew. Models now have it coming closer to the coast than earlier predicted. It should not be a factor during the game, but things could change. Could be ugly weather (rain, probably not high winds) at kickoff.

Yeah my friends and in-laws are a little lacking in confidence too.

I love it. I've attended every LSU/UF game in that stadium since I moved here in 1990. Some rough sledding in the early years to be sure. I was also in BR for 58-3 in 1993.

Well I'll be there again this Saturday, hopefully celebrating all afternon with my son. I hope we beat 'em by 50.
