if so, they did it in '07 too.
i wasn't at the '09 game so if it wasn't shown on TV i didn't see it.
I did go to the '07 game though and it absolutely happened for that one.

I was there in 2007 but must have missed it ... the 2009 game was my mom's first game and it absolutely happened then as well ... she was PISSED that "those boys stepped on our eye". For a while after that it sure seemed that there was security around/near the eye. Guessing they'll be keeping an "eye" on it.
