2003 sugar bowl. At first when you said that I was like no way, they played in the Sugar Bowl more recently than that because I was there. but Yep pretty much 20 years ago lol

no shite crime is a problem in Nola. However, acting like there is a 50% chance you're going to get killed if you go there is silly.

Don't go to New Orleans East or the 7th ward. Be aware of your surroundings. 99.9% chance you will not be a victim of a crime.

Who said there was a 50% chance of getting killed? The guy simply said that crime in NOLA is keeping him and his family from going. That's definitely fair since the crime rate is higher there than a lot of vacation destinations in the US.

Not sure why you're getting butt hurt over someone just being cautious for their family and kids. I'm sure he wouldn't hesitate to go if he was going with his buddies.

I am surprised that they sold that many unless the LSU fans bought them. I don’t think this is a game where the ticket brokers will make money scalping them because face value is so high.

This is so silly, I’m convinced some of you are afraid of your own shadow

And what is the crime rate if you take out Nola East, the 7th ward, and eastern Algiers?

Probably still higher than other travel destinations if you take out their higher crime areas.

ETA: I have nothing against New Orleans and enjoy going. I just don't know why some posters get so defensive when someone doesn't want to visit the city.

What are you basing that on?

It’s not defensive to point out that the hilariously over the top hyperbole isn’t accurate.

You do know that the most recent nationally reported statistics on incidents/100k population had Baton Rouge and New Orleans neck and neck on murder/manslaughter, robbery, and assault right?

BR blew NOLA out out of the water (in a bad way) on property crime.

Of course St Louis had a murder rate greater than the sum of both...

With what we lack in PT, we should make up for in energy. If we don't come out firing for BKs first game, in the Dome, on National TV, we have big problems. This is the type of game players come to LSU for

True both are crime ridden shitholes but so are Houston, St Louis , New York, New Jersey, Miami ect .I could go on and on but Tiger fans need to be out in full force at the Dome, just be alert and if you can legally carry.

They probably know but are smart enough to realize that outside of a few parts of the French Quarter and some private party venues, they won't realize that Decadence Fest is happening.
