Obviously losing no games is ideal, but looking at our schedule, I think the loss to Florida is the one that does least damage. Everything is still in play. Hypothetically, if LSU beat the #2 and #1 teams in the country and then go on to beat the East Champion, there would be no way to leave them out. If we beat everyone but Bama we are out of SEC Title Game and not going to Playoff with ND sucking up a spot.

This logic is unassailable. We will win out.

Well, we want to make sure we secure the "best" loss to soften the blow of lesser losses such as Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M and MSU, I guess.

You are right in that this loss still leaves everything in our hands.

I actually said this before the season. Ole Miss, UF, or A&M are all okay to lose as long as we win all others. Clemson lost to Pitt the year they won the natty. Bama lost to Ole Miss two years in a row and made the playoffs both years. Bama AND Georgia lost to Auburn and made it to the natty last year. we lost to Kentucky and Arkansas and won the natty. Florida lost to Ole Miss before Tebow made the I promise speech and then won out and won the natty. UPSETS HAPPEN. WE STILL ARE IN THIS. This is still the same team that went 5-0 to start with two top 10 wins, yet everyone seems to be focused on the one loss heading into a game that can TURN THIS FOOTBALL PROGRAM BACK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

ETA: Auburn lost in Death Valley last year as bad as we were, and they pulled off W's over #1 Georgia and #1 Bama. This is doable.

Rebounding after a loss says more about a team than anything else can. We find out what kinda team we have.

There are 3 requirements for a “good loss” in my mind

1. Earlier the better
2. On the road
3. Ranked opponent

But let me be clear- it’s only good if you win out.

Georgia would be better, if LSau were only going to lose 1.

Everything is still in front of them, they just can't lose another game.

Losing to east team does not affect path to Atlanta as West champion if we meet Bama, MSt, and aggots. So if we beat UGA, then the East Champ, we gotta be in playoffs. Even if we lose to UGA but win others we are in Atlanta for chance at SEC title which would get at least new year's bowl

If the LSU team that played Saturday in Gainesville shows up against Nicky and his well paid for 5 stars, we are going to get embarrassed.

With having said that, it seems we always play up to Bama and give them the toughest fight from a man-on-man and physicality stand point. So if this years game is anything like the previous years, I think we have a chance. How we rebound against UGA will tell us a lot about this team. Hoping it speaks a bunch of positives and not negatives. I am cautiously optimistic.

Disagree. Losing a game on the road vs at home. And I’d rather beat #2 at home and lose to #22 on the road. Especially if they are in same division.

I'm sure most will bash the people that are logical but truth be told you're right. Of course it would be better to be undefeated but since we aren't it's better have lost now to Florida rather than later. Looking at Notre Dames schedule here on out is practically a gimme that they will get in. Sucks but we know how the system works. Our only way to get in is to win out and win the conference. Curse me all you want I'm a diehard LSU fan everyday but I'm also not a dumb person who doesn't face the facts before us.. with that being said I hope we pull something out from our sleeves because we have to get better and do it FAST. I think we can best Georgia and give them a run for their money but how we beat bama at this moment is beyond me. I pray our staff does some soul searching and fix things or else we will struggle. Floridas offense is not half as good as bamas or Georgias. You can lie and fiddle with it as much as you want but facts are facts. This is the best bama offense we will have faced in the SabanBama era. We can't make a single mistake here on out now that we have a loss behind us or else playoff hopes are gone.

Come on Tigers get it together.

We now have absolutely no margin for error if we hope to make it to the SECCG. If we lose one more game, we are out, even if we beat Bama.

I agree. Our time for playing around with the cards and puzzle pieces are up.
