You guys own players said it was the loudest stadium theyve ever heard.
Actually, he said it was "as loud" not louder. What are you doing here anyway? I notice you trying to rub salt in these guys wounds on several threads. Y'all won...congrats....now get lost. We don't wanna hear about how great your stadium is. I've been to the Swamp twice before, so I know what it's like. It's a great college football experience, but I'll take Tiger Stadium every time. The sheer obnoxiousness of your fan base (see the Gainesville experience thread) taints what would otherwise be a really cool gameday experience.

I sit across from the Lsu's band. It was refreshing to hear a band that actually knows more then two songs, such as Tenneesse band! Florida does pipe music in but it usually ACDC selection! Band along with the other sound is stopped just before play begins.

I was on the 8th row in the lower bowl and i didnt think it got close to getting as loud as tiger stadium last year for the uf game, especially when the usc score was announced. I honestly thought auburn was louder this year, but in UF fan's defense the game was a blow out.

I took friends who were their for the first time this past Saturday and they had tickets on the 45 midway up, which is perfect to assess the loudness fairly.
They are not the type to look through purple and gold glasses, and while they were very complimentary of the overall environment in Ben Hill Griffin for the game, they even both admitted that it wasn't rocking at quite the level Tiger Stadium does.

It was frickin loud in there. It took them announcing a USC loss for ours to get that loud.
come on now...it wasn't that loud! when they announced the USC loss last year, even the UF fans were cheering at that point. I went to the swamp for the first time in '04 and wasn't impressed. I was impressed in '06...they were really loud when Tebow threw that cheerleader jump pass to a falling down Hernandez in the back of the endzone. WAS NOT impressed this year. NOt even during the third play of the game for them. Doesn't matter though...we still got skulldragged!!!

wish our whole band would have been there. I was right beside them in section B...they really sounded puney considering what they usually sound like. We brought the whole band to AU and they rocked!!!

yeah...I've been to Gay-nesville for the last 3 LSU games...they were really dicks this year. Don't know why. Before last Saturday, I thought that the UGA fans in Athens were the worst on Gameday...Now, those UFags are right up there!

I didnt have a single problem with any of their fans.
kentucky fans are by far the worst I have ever encountered.

they were horrendous last year...but then again, if I was a backwoods fan of a shitty team that beat the #1 team in the country on our own field I would probably be actin up too... those fricks couldn't help themselves

It all depends on where you sit and how biased you are. Hard to take anyone's opinion on a message board seriously. 2 loudest stadiums in college football.

I will concur with that. I've been to every stadium in the SEC except SC (will be there Saturday) and I've been to most of the big ones except Penn St. tOSU and Michigan, and Tiger Stadium and Ben Hill Griffin are distinctly the two loudest/best in-stadium atmospheres.

UK fans were shitty before and during the game too. Worst fans by a landslide I have ever seen.

Well judging from the language, it seems a person reaps what they sow! I was around LSU fans before during and after the game. Great football atomsphere! If you run your mouth, run around drunk and more of less act like an arse you'll be treated like one. It's a game played by early 20 year olds. How you present yourself goes along way in the return treatment.

the fact you waited for UF to win before you signed up shows the gayness factor of Florida fans

I was at the Dump (er, Swamp) in ’98 in the thick of the Spurrier era. Few comments:
1) I attended the game with a friend, his young son (5-6 yrs old), and a Gator friend. The Gator fans I sat beside were great fans. We traded friendly barbs throughout the game.
2) However, on the way down the stadium ramp some drunk Gator fan saw it as his duty to yell right in my face all the way down the ramp. No, I wasn’t drunk nor had I done anything whatsoever to provoke him. So I don’t think your point above passes muster. Once at the bottom, an older Gator fan called me aside and basically said to ignore him and apologized.
3) The Swamp was a disappointment. Basically thought ‘so this is it’. Wasn’t even in the same league as TS. Others say it loud so I’ll take their word on it.

Would you expect any less when they're playing a top 3 SEC team at home after an emotional loss at home? Not to mention the way the game went with all those big plays to pump up the fans.

was curious about this so I emailed a buddy of mine who is a UF alum. He said that while they technically don't mic the crowd, they do leave the band mics on during the game, so crowd noise is amplified to an extent through the speakers.
ding ding ding. its bull shite
you can see the speakers behind UFs bench...they are on a one second delay so that the people across the stadium can hear their band, we noticed it while we were in the stadium before the game
then during the game the mic is always on...therefore crowd noise goes through the speakers too...
ETA: just because the band/piped in music stops before play resumes doesnt mean that the mic is turned off
