It was really loud during the game on Saturday.

At least so far this year, it blew Tiger Stadium away... most likely because we haven't had a good game at home yet.

The Georgia or Alabama game will be a good measuring stick to which stadium is louder. Right now it's Florida, but I think it'll change.

The UF band was so pathetic I still couldn't hear them. The LSU road band on the other hand - VOILA!!!

LSU's band has gotten a lot of praise from Florida fans. The last time I went to Gainesville, the whole Tiger band went. It was awesome. It seems like the majority of Gator fans, my friend included, aren't very pleased with the UF band. Have they always been bad?

The band mic's are for TV purposes, the band is not played over the loud speakers. And the piped in music was only on a few occasions during timeouts.

The Swamp is unique due to the structure, it is more vertical than probably any stadium in the country and it helps trap the noise.

Does anyone have any idea why the UF students don't sit by the band? Some one posted that the Florida students were sitting by OUR band. Just found that odd.

The student section includes the entire East stands and the bottom level of the North endzone. The majority of the students are closer to the UF band but due to seating some do sit closer to the visiting band.

The Swamp never calmed down during the 51-21 rout.

BS, the 2nd quarter was quiet until LSU was in the Red Zone at the end, scoring fixed that. Then the opening drive of the 3rd kept it quiet.

Yes, the swamp is loud, but it has more of an NBA or MLB game w/ the pumped in ACDC, heavy metal whatever.

And, all the comments regarding the cop situations in the LSU sections, I saw it first hand.....looking for LSU fans to toss, esp. behind the Band section. The section behind the LSU bench was more of the same, but then again, if you are not acting like a chuckelhead, you prob. won't get bothered, but there were exceptions.

And those of us who will choose NOT to cheer for SEC team florida against any other team, (if you have a problem with us) do those of us who choose to cheer against florida a favor and shut the f up. If florida plays the hitler youth of communist university, I cheering red. The late field goal (41 to 44) did me in for ever supporting florida against anybody.

I think that honor goes to Kyle Field aka "the giant tacklebox" at Texas A&M, although I see the similarities.

I was sitting in section 45, and it was louder than any stadium I have ever been in. I also think the stadium is built a lot differently than Tiger Stadium, and the way it is built, (with 90,000 fans, the stadium under ground level, and no upper deck) it should be louder than ours.

i believe that it was beyond loud however due to shear architecture the swamp is probably louder than tiger stadium. but if you fill the swamp with tiger fans that is the loudest stadium in america

I honestly thought Auburn was louder....not sure if it made a difference that the student section was on the sideline though...

nah, it just has those profiles that make it look extraordinarily tall, but it's not

The "The is the Swamp" profiles on each side give it that affect

I told you guys, the swamp was rocking. Its pretty awesome that it got so loud that you guys thought the crowd was mic'd

The reason the swamp is the loudest is because of the structure. Its straight up and the noise bounces around down on the field. The fans are literally on top of the field.

No other stadium compares.

The Swamp is loud every single game.

That's what separates it from other stadiums.

The noise is impressive. The piped in music is lame. It takes away from the experience in my opinion. The fact that the fans are literally breathing down the necks of the players definitely helps with the intensity. If your band wasn't so crappy, they wouldn't need the artificial noise.

I was sitting in Section 45 as well, and in no way did I think the crowd noise was any louder then what I heard at Jordan Haire in '04; Bryant-Denny in '05; or numerous occasions in Tiger Stadium (UF in '97, Tenn in '00, UGA in '03, and UF in '07 immediately spring to mind).

Maybe my ears aren't sensitive enough to detect the decibel differences that you all can, but loud is just loud to me. Great atmosphere and impressive environment - but pretty much par for the course in the big, SEC stadiums for big, SEC game
