Oregon State isn’t really mid major in baseball.

Yorke is the most baffling from a hitting
perspective because he had good stats facing multiple P4 pitchers in non conference and the tourney.

When you consider that Yorke and Caraway were fallback options only after we missed on other guys and then lost guys to the draft, Simpson is by far the biggest missed evaluation.

I think many people here fail to understand that LSU baseball has been poorly funded these last few years. That's what makes what Jay has done even more impressive. I believe they said Jay is at the bottom or middle of the SEC when it comes to roster funding.

Maybe poorly funded isn't the best way to say it, but I think many understand my point.

Underfunded may be a better way to say it.

Damn, would've been cool to see Yorke get one. I've talked a lot of shite about him, but would still like to see him do well.

He's going to go out with a homer in his last at bat at the box. His first AB was a homer, so it's only right his last one is a homer as well.

There's absolutely no way this is true. I'm not sure where you're getting this but LSU is a top 3 funded program in baseball. I'm not going to say this applied this season because Jay was complaining before the season about revenue share...but before this season if you listened to other programs they complained about this regularly. Tons of podcasts, etc. from other schools said it was just unfair at how LSU would go into the baseball portal and take who they want. This is on top of having top recruiting classes. You think LSU ran into 2 NCs in 3 years behind an underfunded baseball team? I have a bridge to sell to you.

Dardar
Simpson
Yorke

That’s three. They’re all from mid majors. I wasn’t including Caraway

Meh. The extra Rev Share helps, but isn’t some gamechanging amount per player. We have plenty of NIL support. Those deals just take more time and effort to put together, but our recruiting and portal classes this year were still one of the best paid in college baseball.

I'd love to see it.

Man I love Stanfield. He put his body on the line for this team and not much to show for it as far as wins and losses are concerned. He does have a lot of breaks and bruises to show for it, though.

Forgot about Dardar being from that level. Point taken.

He’s an A+ human being. He will be very successful in life even if it isn’t playing baseball

Also, I'd like to add I think what happened to LSU this year is this past portal wasn't top heavy like it was in recent years. By the time LSU went in and their season was done most of the top end talent was already gone. They did a very poor job scouting it and it's very obvious. That's the source of every problem on this team. Funding is not the issue. Revenue share is an entirely separate issue from "roster funding" like NIL. It has a minor impact compared to NIL.

Last year’s portal wasn’t nearly as strong either. Bad year to have so much elite talent turnover

I'm out for a walk right now and have the game on my phone but just listening and I thought he had a HR because of Blair.

Maybe he was just hoping Yorke caught one and was excited for him.

Wonder if he could get a coaching job at LSU if he doesn't get picked up.
