The little LSU fan is Alexander who had a bad heart and after multiple surgeries, he passed away. His little brother (born after his death) has the same problems. Alex has a facebook page: Prayers for Alexander
His family had requested that we change our pictures. I have never changed it back to whatever it was.

I saw this with the NFL and college football is just copying its big brother. It's about money now. The BIG difference is the NFL is a business and LSU is a public university paid for with tax dollars. But the AD defends by stating that the fans demand a competitive team, blah, blah, blah. Fact is that the athletics have little or nothing to do with the University anymore. Doubt me? Ask someone on the Academic side who can get a meeting with the Chancellor easier. The AD or a Department Head.
Athletics is a business now and their goal is money and wins. Fans, traditions, family fun are all secondary concerns. Just as with the NFL, the AD will take on more and more of the easy money (corporate funding) and individuals will be pushed to the periphery. You can count on it. This coming from a Free Market Conservative. I don't like it but it is our system.
All of that being said, chastising the fans for leaving early is a bullshite move. He wants the money of the corporations with the loyalty of longtime hard core fans. You don't get both dumbass. I want a National Championship with $25 tickets and beer girls in the aisles. Guess what? Here it is: You sold your Stadium to the highest bidder. Live with your decision.

7M plus took on other financial obligations that were previously paid by academics.
Athletics has kept Academics afloat during the budget cuts the past 4-5 years.

Isn't this why we pay state taxes? I want to see great college football at a reasonable price. Furmon, etc. is not great college football.

The proposal also calls for a six percent increase in season ticket prices from the previous season as well as an increase to the Tradition Fund for reserved parking on campus for both cars and RVs.
Good. Everyone's bitching is pointless because they are still going to sell like hotcakes.

Glad I buy all tickets secondhand when I decide to come in from a game. What a hassle.

LSU is re-living the UGA model in this respect. And that ain't good.
UGA was sticking it to their fans, but the fans pushed back... https://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/2010/06/11/donation-level-required-for-new-uga-season-tickets-falls-to-1550/

for reference, the NFL is also listed as a non-profit entity under the tax code

Based on the diagrams provided to the BOS, my Tradition Fund will rise $100 for Football, but drop $100 for Baseball.
