Isn't Baton Rouge like top 5 in murder rate?
And they are arresting a kid for selling used, smelly shoes on eBay?
Does no one else find this to be absurd?

LSU's equipment manager called campus police after seeing game-worn cleats and gloves for sale on eBay.
WTF
Couldn't handle that internally? Put a muzzle on this guy.
Quite the young entrepreneur:

This wasn't Sanders's first eBay listing. According to WBRZ-TV, his seller history shows nearly $3,000 worth of game-worn LSU equipment. If Tigers players keep coming to him, it's for two reasons: he gives them a fair cut of the profit, and he doesn't sell them down the river.

How is this illegal? It's against NCAA rules for sure, but not illegal. The police should not care.
So by calling it the university's property and therefore "theft," we now have the police doing the bidding of an organization unable to adequately enforce its own rules. Thank you, Mark Emmert, you miserable failure of a human being.
this guy has a valid point too

it's still pretty awesome of him to take the fall of something as petty as cleats and gloves. to protect a player's scholarship/career. if he's willing to pay for that person's wrongdoing more power to him. if this was something more major then sure it's a different story. hopefully that player has learned from this.
and hopefully that person rewards him in the future.

So is making millions off these kids without insuring them in case of career ending injuries.

I find it absurb that you think Baton Rouge's murder rate has anything to do with LSU's campus police

He sold merchandise that was stolen. How can you morons not comprehend the illegality?
And hero my arse. He is helping facilitate an NCAA violation. As dumb as we may all think the rule is, frick him and whatever players are putting the program in jeopardy. Now, once caught, it is sort of stand up to take his medicine and not rat anybody, but dude shouldn't be doing that shite in the 1st place.

And he is taking responsibility for his actions. It would have been easy for him to throw LSU players under the bus and him get off Scott free. But he's doing the right thing. Sooooo kudos to him.
