Baseball: protect the defense???

Their reasoning was "player safety" trying to reduce the velocity of the ball off the bat. A ball to your dome is still gonna frick you up whether its going 90 or 93 MPH.

UCLA head coach is probably pissed as frick bc he knows his team has no fricking shot anymore.

I hate that fricking team, and I hate the way they play baseball.

Exactly. Which is why this change covers their arse. No difference in exit velocity.

Yep. I wish the NCAA had less foolish pride.

Flat seam baseballs...

Thank God!

Football pics inserted so the football purists don't disown us for a baseball thread in October!

Good. Hopefully LSU can adjust quickly, unlike the last two bat changes

I really think this will balance the game out the way it should be.

Good pitchers should get rewarded for making great pitches.

Good hitters should also be rewarded for putting a good swing on the ball.

I hope this move can make our hitting similar to '08 or '09 or at least '10.

I don't know that much adjustment will be necessary. We already are a line-drive team that tries to hit to the gaps. Now bad pitches will be punished more and some of these gappers could turn into home runs.

Agreed. I don't think any teams will have to really adjust the way they play or recruit or anything of that nature. The only difference will be more enjoyable baseball.
