F King is horrible, but his politics have little to do with it unless you are some kind of conspiracy theorist. However, that doesn't excuse the Greeks for awful behavior going back decades before F. King was here...

Greeks donate. Most Others don’t. I’d like to know the %’ages. Stats say LSU alums earn more than their SEC peers. Who donates, who doesn’t give back? My premise, which isn’t scientific, just an observation is that Greeks tend to give back more because they take more ownership.
King is seeking diversity and likely reduced standards. He put energy into this. What energy is he putting in to solving the Greek issues? Banning tailgating for lack of security seems to be ignoring any solution. He makes choices, just like with the Miles deal and Jimbo and we all got embarrassed. This situation is the same. He’s avoiding any solutions that will make the situation better. He wants to CHANGE. He’s like Obama.

No, but this is about the Greeks. No one else can tailgate either fwiw. The Greeks are large and often more disastrous when they drink compared to isolated morons. Wake up.

Now I normally use an e-cig when I'm in gatherings so I don't bother anyone with smoke. Just talking in general that I don't throw butts out my window or drop them on the ground. It's really not hard to not litter: don't be lazy, and have respect for the place you're at.

i'm not reading all of this thread but why blame King? I would say the Greeks (or at least some of them) screwed their own pooch. they should be held accountable for their behavior. just the fact that they were mandated to have outside security tells me they were not trusted to behave correctly. contrary to some, you can party and have a great time without being an "animal". and if someone gets hurt or a girl is attacked who gets sued? LSU, that's who.

Nitwit are you an alum? Do you belong to the Alumni Association? Have you ever donated to LSU for the sake of giving?
Some Greeks have behaved badly. Those should be punished. I just don’t think it’s good business to have our president banning organizations from tailgating without trying to find a solution to the problem.
History shows that 90% of the donations come from Greek affliated alumni. We have 3 generations of my family who were in Greek organizations at LSU. All have donated significantly to the university. We aren’t entitled or spoiled. We don’t condone bad behavior.
I do think tradition matters and F King seems clueless to some of the traditions at LSU. I think the leadership at LSU should find a solution to the security problem, make the organizations who require the security pay the cost and have insurance which protects the university. Banning is a cop out decision made by an ineffective leader who basically did the same thing when it was time to replace Miles.

A well worth in business tries hard to keep its best customers happy. There is a solution. 23% is a significant customer base especially when they represent 90% of your historical revenue.
If you are an alum join the alumni association. If not you can be an ALumni By Choice. Start with $100. Is That what you want?
