2012 more yards and more first downs

2013 more points

I little perspective may be needed

2013 is going to be better

2013 season opener: TCU
2012 season opener: North Texas.

Stats are skewed

I'd bet if you look at the raw numbers you might not see a huge difference, we had a lot of yards and points against Northwestern and UW last year. But it sure as hell never looked this easy.

It looks like LSU could score at will this year.

Very true statement.

Second game Washington in 12, UAB in 13....not that skewed.

Me too, I do think we are better, and Mett is better. I just don't know how much better yet

That Washington performance was very impressive last year. Easily the best of the season.

Last year the offense was "exposed" vs Auburn. The Towson game the following week reinforced the problems. The offense was too predictable. Once teams got game film, defending that offense was easy

Like perspective on not just raw numbers, but in actual productivity of offense (see: red zone, tds scored, etc.). The tangible/intangible factor is this: did LSU have to struggle for its stats and scores versus opponents in first 2 games of 2013 in the way it appeared LSU seemed to struggle last year. Or to put it another way, the enjoyment factor: would you the fan prefer to watch LSU win the way LSU won these first 2 games of 2013? Or would you rather watch last year's sometimes frustrating efforts, even when our Tigers won?

I like the winning part. I know it isn't valued as much by some.

Better defensive display than offense. LSU gained 436 yds and only allowed 183. LSU only attempted 19 passes in that game.

Totally agree with this. Just want this offense to keep chugging along and dominate Auburn in a few weeks. Mett looks completely different than last year and its great.

Perspectives never a bad thing. Neither are clean contacts and glasses.

Not trying to be a dick, but surely you see a little something different this year than you've seen lately, no?

So, which team would you like to take to Ga, last years Washington team that was efficient and solid offensively and dominating on D, or this years UAB team that gave up lots of yardage on the ground, but did a good job throwing it around?

I think I take this one, but not by much.

This offense, that defense. That was easy. It would be unstoppable.

I am not worried, be a dick, or don't. Objectively we are about the same place offensively where we were against a similar schedule....yes, this year looks better offensively, but I will always believe that being able to rush and stop the rush will win championships.
