Hi guys & gals! I am bringing my daughters (25, 22, 12) and son (17, this is his 18th birthday gift) for the ATM game in a couple weeks. We are " Texas Tigers" and I need some deets on how to handle the tail gate. Where do we park? Do we set up? I'm a southern belle and just can't come empty handed. HELP me out with a plan of how to make the best memories. PS. I am also taken. :) TIA!!

Pics?
Just stay out of North Baton Rouge and you'll have a great time. Parking will be a hassle but I can't really help you there!

If the street is named after a state or a president do NOT go down it. And don’t go past the Wienerschnitzel

You can’t ask these idiots for advice with your opening sentence and get an honest answer...leave your vehicle at hotel and Uber/Lyft or buy a parking pass to set up your tailgate( you don’t need your own your from out of town you will be fine just be friendly) Avoid streets named after states or presidents and you will be fine...traffic sucks after the game due to the Mississippi River cutting off all traffic goin towards the west...you will have to walk a mile or so down the leave to catch another Uber/Lyft back to the hotel...again avoid streets named after states or presidents and you will be fine...also avoid MLK that’s a shite show as well

Going to try to give you some good information:

First off, when are you getting to BR? I’d personally recommend getting to town on Friday and do Friday night dinner at the Chimes.....after touring campus

Do you know anyone with a tailgate? Would start there...although you’ll probably get some good contacts here who can help you out....just remember a lot of the replies you’re going to get here are going to be irreverent (to put it mildly)

We won’t know kickoff time until Tuesday (hopefully) and you can back plan from there...plan parking by your exit route....otherwise you will find yourself in an epic clusterf@@@...

If you can score a parking pass that would help. Otherwise, park in the levee lots...its a short walk. you can tailgate out there but its not that much fun...not much space between rows.

I'd walk around the stadium and see if you can find a tailgate to join in on. Tell people its your first game and you will be welcomed with open arms.

Make sure to visit Mike's cage, watch the band come down the hill, and get into the stadium early for pregame warm-ups and the band taking the field.

May want to stock up on LSU gear at the bookstore and eat at Chimes before the game if you have time. Get there early though.

Have fun!

Because the neighborhoods along Highland & Nicholson north of campus are not the safest part of town, especially if the game ends after dark.
