Because the neighborhoods along Highland & Nicholson north of campus are not the safest part of town, especially if the game ends after dark.

this is an understatement.

Understood. We aren't staying in a hotel. Since we have a house rented southeast of town as ways, driving in is necessary. Spending the day Friday in NOLA.

What time do we need to arrive to park in a decent spot? I was thinking on the east side. Want to be certain we are in a good spot for after game traffic out.

Are you wanting to just walk and tailgate with others or set up your own? How many people in your party?

One approach based on southeast BR would be to park your car Friday evening over by the lakes and Uber back to your hotel and do the same back to campus on Saturday .... that way you have transport out and a good parking place....

We are 45 minutes away for parking the night before isn't an option. There are 8 to 10 in my party. Thanks for your help!

That’s tough...without a parking pass you are going to be limited to a rando front yard or a parking lot that isn’t very well protected and traffic getting out is absolutely horrible to he point that I don’t drive to games anymore even with our parking pass we just sell it if my grandpa doesn’t bring the RV...maybe someone that lives in BR knows another local trick but after the last time I’m done with driving down there

How much is a parking pass? Where do I purchase one? And still, where should we locate ourselves? We want to have an enjoyable time and don't mind puchasing a pass. The issue is, I don't want to have to carry a bunch of shite to tailgate elsewhere AND I can't afford to pay the $900 price tag I am seeing. Rookie, I know. There has to be another option.

If it’s $900 it’s in the RV lot...you should be able to get an on stadium parking pass for around $100-$150...you will still have to deal with the traffic after the game but you will be in prime location for all tailgates...just bring an ice chest with wheels and a handle and walk around trust me you want have a problem finding a good party before the game

Get to campus early...by 11am. Look for parking by the Ag Center...it’ll be “easier” getting out. Rather than try setting up, I’d get an ice chest you don’t mind losing, fill with beer, drinks, and then find a friendly crowd. Look for larger groups as there will be plenty of extra food. Explain first game, birthday and you’ll be welcomed.
Go visit Mike. Team, then band come down the hill 2 hours before kickoff. In seats 30 min before kickoff.

OK, SHE clearly said there’s a 12 year-old girl involved.

Pics of the OP or any of the other of-age women welcomed for reference.

Will do! We are looking at spots near the baseball field. My son plays so that would be a neat spot to see up close. If we can, we will try to look you all up. I really appreciate your willingness to assist!
