While I admire your enthusiasm, I'd wait. That's a little young. Not gonna be fun for your wife. Not gonna be fun for the kid. And most important, not gonna be fun for you. Two-time dad speaking here.

I have to agree with the opinion of most of the previous posts...don't do it. Being on campus and experiencing all there is to see and do before the game is one thing, but there's no value in bringing an infant in Tiger Stadium. I'm the father of two year old twins, and while the thought to bring them crossed my mind a time or two, I'm glad I haven't. It's difficult enough watching the game in my living room when they're awake. I can't imagine how miserable it would be to have them at the stadium. Although your child is 3 months old and much easier to keep up with than mine, I still don't think it's worth it. It's going to be cold and loud. Why not just wait?

IF you do decide to go, good luck with the stroller. I know I wouldn't risk leaving ours at the gate.

let the babies first game be an LSU baseball game! You, mom and baby will have a much better time than bringing him to Tiger Stadium

Aren't baseball games typically in the day? I don't have kids but what little I know tells my baby and sun mix worse than baby and 90,000 people.

My mother in law lives in Baton Rouge. When my wife and I have kids, she can't wait to watch them for the game. I'm very very very very lucky.

I'm sure he will have a blast and remember it for the rest of his life. Not only do the newborns have a blast, but Newborns typically ad enjoyment to those around them too. I will never forget my first game next to a baby.

3 months is a bit young. I have a 9 week old daughter (also a first time dad here) and there's no way I could imagine taking her to a huge public gathering. Kids that small just aren't ready for that much exposure.

Also, not to scare you but infants are highly susceptible to the swine flu which is all over the place. I believe you can catch it 6ft from a carrier. With 90K people, I don't like the odds.

So, my wife and I are bringing our 3 month old son to his first game in Tiger Stadium.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>My family and I just arrived in Lafayette (from Cali) at our home here, and my husband & I saw this. We have 3-yr-old twin boys and keeping them in check on airplanes is hard enough.

We're blessed that my folks always watch 'em when we go to home and road games. Even when the games are on TV, it's still a challenge.

I'd recommend not taking your son to tomorrow's game, what with the crowd noise, the cold night air, and their limited attention span, etc. At 3 months, though, wow. I wouldn't do that if I were you, but you know what's best for your child.
>>>>>>>>>Also, congrats to u & your wife on the birth of your son!!!

There is only ONE reason you and your wife would be doing this. You are proud, and want people to know you just had a child.

While I get that, trust me.....no one gives a frick. Keep the kid home.

Why in the world would you want to do that? I just can't imagine any upside to doing this?

Dude...

Don't do it! Listen to a veteran father on this one... you don't have to rush to have your kid's first Tiger Stadium trip. A three month old won't even know he was there, and on a night like tonight? He'll just get VERY SICK.

Again... PLEASE don't take your 3 month old to a game.

My kid's first game at Tiger Stadium was 2003 Georgia. He was 5 years old.

He can point to it as a special game, and he was old enough to truly enjoy it.

You should seek a similar game at a similar age to take your kid. It's the right thing to do. Listen to your fellow fathers on this one!

wouldn't it be incredibly too loud for a infant?

I thought this exact thing when I read the OP. This won't be the loudest of games, but my ears ring for days after some games. Wait until they are 3 to 4 years old. They're interested and it's fun to see things through their eyes at that age. I took my 4 y/old nephew to a game this year and it was a blast. I can’t imagine how this could be a good idea for anyone involved.

So lets get this straight.

1.) 3 months old
2.) cold
3.) loud
4.) need 3 tickets
5.) packing large diaper bag AND stroller
6.) assume baby will need bottle and burp, diaper change and up and down throughout game.
7.) cold and flu season, nothing like sharing wiht 90k others
8.) crying will be a real treat for the surrounding fans.

Sounds like a stellar idea.

Lots of very good arguments against have been raised, but one has been glossed over and it's very valid: crowd noise. All kids are different but most infants don't like sudden loud noises. I took my then-4-month-old to a Braves game a few months back and we ended up leaving before the third inning.

If you're dead set on "taking" him to his first game, mebbe consider selling your tickets and setting up at a tailgate where you can watch the game and enjoy the scene and the little guy can crash when the time comes (and it will).

this has to be a hoax and most of u took the bait. surely nobody is dumb enough to take a 3 month old to a f-ball game on a cold Sat. night in Tiger Stadium.

I have a friend that took their son to TS when he was about 3-6 months old. They live close to the stadium so Mom just left when the kid was reacting to the loud crowd noise very early in the game. You won't last past the second quarter if that long.

PS This kid is now 13 and has probably seen more LSU home games in TS than I have at age 46. It did not ruin him but you and your wife are not going to have much fun.
