Stay at home….
Florida is the worst too many tailgating rules/cops on bikes….and rude fans… most people go to bars to tailgate it’s weird….Gainesville is a cool town but the fans aren’t….
A&M is just a boring college town. and the fans stand the whole game…… stay home do not go
I’d go to UT before I went to A&M

Thanks C2 and Walnut!

We’re staying about a mile north of campus and will have a good bit of time to take in a bunch of stuff. Very helpful!!

Not really that fun of a game day experience other than the game itself.

I don’t know anything about the grass except by the union (msc), but the union is called the memorial student center and is dedicated to any former student who lost their lives fighting for our country.

There are things to be an arse about, but I don’t think that is one of them. Just take your hat off and show respect for those fallen soldiers.

I heard they are similar, but they have a couple of Cane’s there as well.

The North Gate area with the Dixie Chicken, Dudley’s and Dry Bean Saloon is cool and fun on GameDay relatively cheap drinks and good bar food

eat some brisket at Rudy’s

Please don’t. Coopers is much better. C&J’s is also much better and more of a local spot.

Rudy’s can be good but is also prone to be bad.

I have lived close for about 15 years now.

If you want bbq go to 1775. Best BBQ around. Open at 11 till sold out. I would go close to 11. All prime brisket and some of the best I have ever had. Aggie owned but the brothers are good people.

Republic Friday night would be great if you can get in, might be tough as its gameday. Actually ate their Saturday and least crowded I have ever seen it. Porters would be a good second option. Not as good to me but the quail legs are awesome and so is the porkchop.

Northgate is where all the bars are. Dixie Chicken etc. Its cool to see if you havent been before but noting special.

Like others have said Laynes sucks. Canes is way better but these Aggies think Laynes is the holy grail of chicken tenders but is trash.

I will hopefully be getting tickets, havent missed an LSU game at kyle field aside from covid year since they joined the SEC.

Eat at The Republic. One of the better restaurants you’ll find.

Just a friendly clarification on an urban legend repeated several times in this thread.

You can absolutely walk on any grass you want to. Enjoy.

The only exception is the lawn surrounding the Memorial Student Center (MSC), because, well, it’s a Memorial building (same reason as removing your hat in the building).

There are signs in this area politely reminding you. It’s no big deal.

Have a safe trip to CStat. Visitors are enthusiastically welcomed.

The whole damn campus is dedicated to dead Aggies. Who dedicates their student union to dead guys?

No kidding. Walk around their bleak "campus" and you'll find statues, plaques, buildings, all named in honor of some Aggie who died in the Spanish-American War or something. And don't even dare ask about the Bonfire collapse. Aggies still cry on the anniversary of that one.

The whole fake Army thing is humorous, and yet unavoidable. They push it on everyone. It's just a weird, weird place, and I think anyone from a real school that visits is going to be turned off by the inherent silliness, from the milkmen to the dog to the khaki uniforms to the nonsensical cheers.

I've been a bunch of times. I will say this: the remodeling of Kyle Field made it a much better place. That side of their campus looks like a real college now, as opposed to the stark Fort Aggie look of the rest of the place.

If you go to Dixie Chicken, stop by the Dry Bean Saloon next door for some shots. Great shot bar.
