Don't set up in front of the Swine Palace. That's our spot for over 12 years now. The grass on nthe North side of the Swine Palace is open.

We are actually going to be closer to Sturgis Hall. We have friends who have tailgates in that area and the few times we have stopped by it seems like there is open space.

Just arrive early (Friday) with frames and be ready to adjust around groups that have been tailgating there for 10+ years. Is that a free spot or $40/car? If not free, just remember you need a decal if you plan on leaving a vehicle or trailer out there on Friday night.

Can you park overnight at the AG Center lot without a decal, I know that it is free on gameday but I wasn't sure about leaving a vehicle overnight.

First come first served. Any veteran tailgater knows this. If they show up after you got the spot? Tough shite. frick them.

Yes, this is true. If you do happen to plop on to a sacred spot, someone may politely ask if you'd move over a bit but you'll be fine. The veterans will all be out very early.

Go out to the Old Front 9 and set up your tent next to the tallest truck that you can find with truck nuts and one of those duck-fishhook stickers. You should have no problems.

Does anyone have any pointers on setup or tailgating in general?

Don't forget to bring bottled water and paper towels.
Get extra ice.

Secure a provided trashcan early in morning. Keep your generator far as possible and in the shade if possible.

If watching a TV and your tent is not against shaded side of building, grab a $5 tarp to drape down the side of tent behind the TV for contrast and better visibility.
