I really hope LSU runs up the middle every play in this game.

Cody's backup is probably a better player than Cody - he's definitely more physical and has better technique.

bullshite. Chapman is more physical than Cody? I know about how strong he is and all that crap but Cody does more for your defense than Chapman.

I like the idea of a wheel route to Scott or Murphy. Put Holliday in the slot running a cut post and reverse the wheel opposite of his cut. I would love to see LSU use formations like Scott-Holliday-Williams,etc., so the plays aren't so damn predictable. Holliday and Murphy's speed should be used to stretch while LaFell and Bird run underneath with lb's in coverage. Zone block for Scott and Williams and challenge our o-line to take the line of scrimage. JMHO.

I'm hoping for a pick 6 for y'alls first play

I think Lee needs two to pass Howard as LSU's all time pick 6 record holder.

I don't care what play we run, so long as LSU is the team running the next play.

I think 1st down play calling is going to be critical in this game(not just the first play of the game). On the one hand you want to stay in managebale down and distances, 3rd and 2's, 3rd and 3's. But you also want to keep 'Bama off balance on defense which means taking some shots on 1st down. The problem is an incomplete pass on 1st down puts you in a hole with a freshamn QB going against the 'Bama defense....This may be a game to run a few extra draws and screens in obvious passing situations.

I couldn't agree more. I believe that the majority of folks often overlook the importance of picking up sufficient yardage on first downs. With a young QB, the worst thing you could do is put unnecessary pressure on him against a good opponent--you don't want to put him in the situation where he's trying to compensate on second and/or third down.

I'd much rather see us utilize Holliday more as a diversion, if anything--think back to the way Green was utilized during Miles' first year. That way, the defense is forced to account for him and if you line up RM and CS in the backfield out of the splitbacks set in the gun, you can run zone read and probably fair well. Of course, we need mobility at the QB position, so Lee can't be in there. But then again, you have to be able to present the threat of a pass, and Hatch doesn't really strike fear into opposing defenses with his arm.
