So I turn 50 this coming weekend, and my wife has bought tickets for me, her, and our son for the Moo State game. Needless to say after the win last week I'm super excited and so is my son.

Where is the best place for free parking?
How early should we get on campus?

Any other helpful hints? We can't wait to experience the atmosphere!

Get there early and experience it allm, walk around campus, go see Mike, watch the team walk down the hill, visit tailgates and tell them you are from out of town and get fed, if you get there around 9 or 10 you should be able to park by walk ons or the old front 9 i think it is called.

There are parking lots over by Alex Box stadium that are free. It is difficult to find free parking where you wont be walking a good distance to get anywhere but I've always enjoyed the walk because the tailgating scene is great between there and Tiger Stadium.

Ag Center parking lot off of East Parker Blvd. (Google LSU Gameday Parking map and you'll see where I'm talking about)

Free parking in the big grass lot next to Walkons, on Aster street near the dorms in the blue sign commuter lot, over by the Lakes near the frat houses and the churches on W. lakeshore drive right by the Dalrymple traffic circle. You should be able to get a spot if you arrive a few hours prior to kick. Prepare to walk a good bit if you’re wanting free parking. It’s not too bad. Wear comfortable shoes and the weather is nice so it’ll be no problem.

Try to get to Tiger Stadium about 35 mins prior to kickoff to see the whole pregame show, don’t leave early. The traffic isn’t as bad as they all make it out to be if you park according to the traffic flow. For example if you’re heading east after the game, park where they direct all cars to I-10 east. I’d recommend checking out the parking map here. Park according to where you’re heading postgame.

Geaux Tigers!!

Does this really work? That would be really cool to enjoy some tailgating while we are there.

Thanks for all the other info, will for sure check out the parking map. We are going to be in town Friday night going to drive around campus and check things out.

I too have a birthday this Saturday and am coming to BR for the Moo State game. We share a birthday with Snoop Dogg and Tom Petty. Happy early birthday! Tigers wouldn't dream of losing on our birthday.

Is it you’re first game or your sons first game?

Make sure you, your wife, and son all learn the official LSU chant: STTDB.

Practice this week at home leading up to the game Saturday

LOL!!! May take some convincing for the fam to pick that up, when I heard it on ESPN a couple of weeks ago, I died laughing and my wife was asking what they were saying. She wasn't amused LOL!!!

Yeah it works but the whole out of town thing isn’t that uncommon. Probably half of the people who come in for games are from out of town.

There’s tailgate crews from Texas, Mississippi, Natchitoches, Shreveport etc. LSU is a big brand. We’ve got fans everywhere.

I'd recommend parking east of the stadium, near the Ag Center or University High. That way you see a lot of campus AND tailgating, and can stroll through the oak trees, buildings, parade grounds, and visit the Union or Bookstore for souvenirs. You can also hit the Chimes/Varsity to watch some earlier games or get a drink and some food.

Yes, there's a lot of tailgating on the other side by the river but you miss all of these "on campus" sights.

Yes, it does. Don't be shy and let people know it's your first time for you and your kid. Be careful telling them it's your 50th; otherwise, you might pass out before the game.

Avoid the area north of campus, more specifically streets named after US states or US Presidents
