There will be a certain segment of Wisconsin fans (as with all northern fan bases) that literally still believe all southern stereotypes and that we all have alligators as pets and no indoor plumbing. We went though that in Houston in '14, along with Katrina insults and Civil War references (they are keeping alive the Civil War more than Southerners!) They also comically believe that the whole South is ONE state, and everyone is the same all the way across. Truly bizarre..... Just ignore them. I'm sure there'll be some nice ones.

Expect an awesome time! The major majority of people are good where ever you go. Unfortunately we remember the few who try to get under your skin here and there. WI and LA people are very similar in so many ways. Only differnces are accents and weather. People from both states talk funny and have extreme temps (hot/cold).

I truly believe these are the 2 coolest states in the union. A friendly hello will open doors you wouldn't experience otherwise.

Tips:
1. Bring seasoning. They do sell some up there now, but used to season our steaks with butter when i grew up. you will need it at most places.

2. Try the local brews.

3. Get a WI brat. Way better than ones served down here.

4. Eat CHEESE CURDS!!

Ar-Kansas was THE worst by far of all the away places to go, not just because War Memorial was rickety, but the people were trashy. Many fights broke out after the game. I still haven't been to Fayetteville, but I guess my SEC circuit wouldn't be complete without that one.

Same here. No more R-Kansas games. The UW road trip was awesome!

1967 LSU-Tennessee at Knoxville. Tigers lost 17-14, but Sammy Grazaffi returned kickoff 100 yards. I've enjoyed beating UT like a drum the last 15 years

Got to be a ball boy for the 95 Independence Bowl when we whooped Saban and Michigan St. First SEC road game was @ Tennessee in 2001. Don't remember it being amazing or anything, but it could have been because it was right after 9/11 or I was hammered. Or maybe because we lost. Wish I could have made the rematch in Atlanta! My buddies still talk about all the hillbillies with roses after the game on suicide watch.

man, that is a hell of a thoughtful birthday present! I actually enjoy away games as much as home games. you will run across some asshats, but in general, people are pretty friendly and want you to enjoy their state. carry yourself with class and you will have a damn good time.

LSU - Vandy in 1977...

Definitely a different atmosphere. They stand in line to get into the library on Saturday & the student section is devoid of students.

I did like their favorite cheer, tho:

Repel them, Repel them,
Make they relinquish the ball!!!
