You realize he actually HAS to say that and apply for other jobs to continue to get his buyout check?

How many teams in the last 2 years hired coaches 64 yr old or older?

its an incredibly short list...Herm Edwards.

Do you guys actually think things through logically or just throw out your emotional opinions?

I know I can't be the only one. I usually have a burning in my stomach for the season to start, reading all the previews online and in print, counting down the days. Just don't feel it this year and it's depressing as hell but it's not there for me.

WTF broski??

As a man that DID NOT want CEO, I'm F'n pumped for the season to start! WE COMIN'

I understand where you're coming from. Most of the good folks on the rant don't bother me, but there are a select few that I just can't and won't agree with. Especially when it comes to saying Miles was the worst coach in LSU history, or college football history. Those folks aren't thinking straight. They just post a bunch of hogwash because they don't like the man for whatever reason.

And I do understand people when they say they didn't like the way he ran things. But anyone who's a Tiger fan that can't give the man props for what he accomplished while he was here is just an ignorant arse in my opinion.

And there are quite a few of them on here.

It's just emotional opinions.

Some of these guys sound like 5th grand school girls with the way they go on and on.

Stop listening to objective analysis? What about our own eyes and ears? This program has been run into the ground since the last 3 weeks of the 2015 season and it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

Cry me a river, just quit being a fan already. Nobody is asking you to stay around and piss and moan. What is for sure is you'll be the first to celebrate any success if it comes despite all the doom and gloom.

Some of you are miserable. Lol @ "objective analysis"...if pre-season polls and talk were 100% accurate, they wouldn't play the games, nancy.

Teams who started Top 10 last season:
Florida State
Michigan

Teams who started outside the Top 25 last season:
UCF
TCU
Notre Dame
Michigan State
Northwestern

This is why they play the games, so go ahead and quit being a fan, nobody needs the constant moaning and groaning over "pre-season" talk and Ms. Cleo predictions. Let it all play out.

I agree!

I personally believe this will be the best D LSU has fielded since 2011. Aranda will be bringing the heat this year! If LSU has any pulse on offense, this could be a fun year!

Big difference between having a "realistic conversation" and "pull against their Tigers."
Please do not conflate these.

Good luck with that struggle. I've all but given up. Some people will never get it and just prefer to believe that anyone that isn't balls deep in the kool-aid wants LSU to lose every game.

Fans that have their heads in the sand do more harm to the program than non-fans.

There is a reason Will Muschamp got the USC east job after he flunked out at Florida

And how does this pertains to our conversation?

I'm making the point. Miles is so undesirable, Muschamp was offered the USC east job over Miles.

Your response to my take on LSU has a very tough schedule and will have a successful season if we go 10-2 is "well, in 2011 LSU had a really tough schedule too and won all those games".

That 2011 team was special. Had at least 10+ guys in the NFL. If Miles wasn't so damn stubborn and started Lee or at least put Lee in at half, we might have beat Bama.

10-2 would be a hell of an accomplishment with this young team no matter how you spin it.

Seems to me I am of the few who do logically think.

In my thought, I point out Miles saying he wants to coach is irrelevant. I'm making the point Not 1 School wants to talk to him, forget about hiring him.

Most of the post on this board are from the point of view that Miles is such a great coach.

I make the logical point that if this was true, he would be pursued by other schools.

He is not being pursued by anyone.

Age has nothing to do with him being a average coach.

frick. How dumb are you? You are aware That Muschamp was hired by South Carolina in December of 2015, right?

I would also hope that you're aware that Miles was the head coach at LSU entering the 2016 season.

So, with those two facts being in place. How the hell was Muschamp offered the USC east job over Miles when Miles was still coaching at LSU?

Muschamp is also somewhere around 18 years younger than Miles. If Miles was in his forties (like Muschamp), he would have been offered a job by now.

It certainly wasn't good, by any means & definitely benefited from a GREAT defense and special teams.

So many games were won bc of ST or Defense
