Will be good to see what happens this year but yeah not really that optimistic about what LSU will accomplish other than firing Alleva this fall.

I've heard this said on the rant before. I don't buy it. Winning the amount of games Miles did at LSU doesn't show him to be a dumb arse. Has he ever made a dumb arse move? Hell yes he has, but so has every other head coach in organized sports.
Then you take o. Ole Miss had an awesome 10-25 record while he was there, and that was due to o's awesome coaching abilities. That was all on him.

Go ahead and name the power 5 school that wants him to coach. I'll wait........
Go ahead and name the power 5 school, or any school for that matter, that wanted o for a coach. Other than Alleva's lazy arse. I'll wait.......
I can't and won't speak about Miles wanting to coach again or not giving a rat's arse one way or the other. All I know is that he's said he would like too, but that doesn't necessarily mean he wants too. The way I understand it he has to "appear" to want to work as a coach again to receive the buyout that was agreed upon between Miles and the University.

Likely I'll get excoriated for this, but here's my two cents worth...
I'm not an "O" supporter because he plainly doesn't deserve to be the head coach at LSU. He has done nothing to deserve the keys to a program of LSU's caliber. However, I don't fault O in wanting or pursuing and ultimately getting the job. It is his dream job. My issues fall squarely with Joe Alleva.
Alleva fired Miles, who averaged 10 wins a game, won SEC titles and a national championship and played for another, with the promise that he was going to hire a coach to raise LSU back to a level of national prominence and relevance.
Instead, he hires the D-line coach on Miles' staff that nobody in the country had any interest in. The same coach that won 10 games in his entire career at Ole Miss. That is how Alleva "raised the bar."
I can easily understand how apathy has creeped into many fans. Look at how attendance has dropped from 102K to a 98K per game average. Last year, LSU lost to Moo U by 31 points, the most in the 111 years of the series. Had the worst loss in LSU football history by losing at home to Troy. Then, when the Tigers had the chance for some redemption in the bowl game, lost to Notre Dame because of piss poor special teams and poor tackling. So, I certainly can see where apathy and skepticism has taken hold of a lot of folks.
Only the delusional fans say LSU is going to win 10 or more games. There are so many question marks surrounding this LSU team, especially on the offensive side of the football with a new OC, new unproven QB, no RB that's scored a TD, unproven WRs, new PK, etc. that coupled with a brutal schedule, most realists put the win total at 7 or 8 on the high end. I sure hope O proves me and every prognosticator wrong by winning 10 or 11 games. Because if he does, LSU would likely be in the college football playoff and have a shot at a national championship.

I agree with you. He was nowhere near my first choice as Miles replacement, although I will admit I was on the fence about him becoming the full time head coach until the 2016 Florida game.
After the shitshow he produced before, during and after that game, any support I may have had for him quickly vanished.

I agree with this as well. He hadn't done anything prior to 2016 to deserve it, Didn't do anything during the 2016 season to deserve it, and hasn't done anything (other than beat Auburn last year) since becoming the head coach to deserve it.

I don't fault o either. The blame falls on Alleva's shoulders. It was a lazy search and that's on Joe.

It is his dream job.
Is it though? I know he's said that it is, but I'm pretty damn sure he said the same thing about the Ole Miss job and the USC job.

Just don't feel it this year and it's depressing as hell but it's not there for me.
Maybe it's Alleva, F. King, Ed O., the offensive coordinator debacle, or something else. But I wish I could feel the excitement and anticipation again.
Sounds like low T. Talk to your doctor ASAP.

Les Miles gets $125,000/month from LSU.
In the 30 seconds it just took me to respond to you, he just made another $86.81.

I remember being pumped if we won half of the games. Every year we have some fun games. Guess the success has spoiled us. We will beat Bama this year. Peeps need to give coach O a chance., I think this is his break out year.

You used the word apathetic on a football forum for crying out loud... WTF is wrong with some of the posters on this board??? It’s like the political landscape has spilled over to some of our fans. You didn’t get your way with the coaching selection so your going to pretend your the media and stomp your feet like a child.
You couldn’t care less about the program, or you wouldn’t say stupid shite and put down the program any chance you get. We’re not going to be outclassed talent wise by any team on our schedule. Give these coaches a chance instead of praying for them to fail so you can be right. If they fail, then you have every right to btch, wine and complain.

Bro, I'm always pumped for LSU football. This year as much as any. This team has potential to be very good and is very talented. I can't wait to see what the tigers look like. Gtfo with this shite.

It's you.
I am pumped as hell!
How will tua play? :0
How aggressive will our defense be this year.
Just so much to look forward to.
Wish the schedule wasn't so bad to be honest.

You don't have to speak about Miles wanting to coach.
With all the coaching jobs that have come open in the last year and a half, Miles would have been approached if he was worth a damn.
Miles has said he wants to coach and has also said he has not been offered a single job.
There is a reason Will Muschamp got the USC east job after he flunked out of Flordia and Miles can't even get an interview.

He has indeed said he "wants" to coach. Does he really "want" to coach.

And how does this pertains to our conversation? Muschamp is/was a very good defensive coordinator. He's somewhere around 47 or 48 years old. He's way too young to be calling it a day.
Speaking of random coaches that don't have anything to do with this thread, like Will Muschamp. Did you know that Mike Riley will be the head coach of the San Antonio franchise in a new spring football league?

Earl, I will never understand why people feel the need throw shite all of Miles in these threads. It vexes me. I'm terribly vexed.
