357... was this Berzon's move or mutual by both parties? I've heard some much that I'm confused.
I've heard so many stories by those "close" to the program over the years, but when I get those same stories from those actually involved, then I seriously doubt many things posted here anymore.

I’d rather watch Beth coach 10 more years and Scott eat that hamburger than any Soccer match or game or Foootball or whatever they call it.

I agree that the defense was also a big problem, but a healthy Berzon would have helped to overcome those limitations. SLU definitely presented matchup problems for LSU and the defense may still have cost them Game 1 even if Berzon were healthy and throwing that game. The offense didn’t do their job in that game either, but there were only a few other losses where you could say they might have won with a good offensive performance. Most of the losses were due to giving up 6+ runs.
It’s really beyond the point of excusing away team performance under Torina, but things really could have been much different the last two years apart from one key injury each year. With Coffey last year, LSU probably makes the WCWS. With a healthy Berzon, they would have been WCWS caliber this year, though SLU may still have derailed them.
Yep, agree with all that.

The thought process (excuse) people are using that A&M lost out too. A&M lost to a #2 seed we lost to a 3 seed who was ten run ruled by the 2 seed TWICE. This is not the same.

Well, it’s not as bad as if we would have lost to a 4 seed…….Oh Wait.

KK madrey was a top recruit out of HS. An elite speedster/lead off player. Not shocked she Is doing well tbh
Absolutely true. It's seems like a common trend in the program. But with the portal now being far more prominent the times may allow for more success. Development doesn't have to be the strength of a program and playing young players isn't an issue if it is par for the course to find more seasoned talent developed elsewhere.
I'd suspect a big roster turn this year. 3 already in portal and I would guess more coming. Would be surprised if at least 5 kids developed at other programs aren't brought in this summer. Maybe that will be the winning formula for LSU. Losing Berzon doesn't help at all though.

There is ZERO chance Berzon leaving was "mutual". And as atypical of a performance as she had this season (sounding like due to injuries) I will bet that she will shine next season. Let's just see how she does at Ms State or OU. Guessing that's where she will land. Gasso's trend has been to grab the top pitcher in the portal the last 4 years and it's worked out well for her so why change??

It was mutual and by some accounts she was going to be asked to leave. She was a bad teammate, cancer and needed to move on. Some ppl guess others know.. keep guessing lol btw, how those freshmen doing? How many will be on the roster come August outside of the great pitcher Heavener?

It seems that the University is currently in greater need of a baseball hitting coach.

They should not waste money on a buyout for a sport that loses money when lsu already has so many expenses. But I agree Woodward needs to stop giving out big buyouts

She simply doesn’t have one million dollars to lure a pitcher to LSU like Texas Tech did.

You idiot, I don't care how the freshmen are doing. But I'd guess about as well as any other freshmen who doesn't play at all--not doing anything. Hell, other than Heavener who is absolutely a wonderful pitcher I too would be surprised if any of the freshmen are left (we might agree on that). Watching portal news, and they haven't popped up yet but probably waiting until after the world series like a lot of them do is my guess since none have shown up unless they aren't marketable after a year of cheering.
And you're about as moronic as I thought or continue with the dumb agenda of trying to disparage a young lady's name for no reason if you're labeling that kid a bad teammate. Add Berzon to your agenda/vendetta along with Harris, Jones, Daniel, Franklin and I forget who all your other dumb arse comments were directed at. Oh that's right the whole roster needs to be purged. As other posters point out you're about as bipolar as they come. Never heard about bad teammate until you just made this dumb crap up. Absolutely no way they told Berzon to go anywhere--without her they are a lesser team regardless of who leaves unless they find a huge arm in the portal, and the recent add is far from that.
I might have passed my prime to threaten you to a fight LoL, but I can talk shite with the best of them since that's all you do on this forum.

Okay now boys LoL!! I will try not to add fuel to the fire, although I know that's impossible and interjecting will likely cause just more unnecessary fired shots :-). However....
I agree that Berzon leaving was not a part of the program's plan, and that's okay! Programs lose stud pitchers all the time especially in this time of portal, NIL, booster influence. I do know that she was absolutely hurt a lot of the season. And maybe it was her who insisted on working through it and attempting to pitch to try to help Heavener out but I know she was hurt. Same can be said from last year's team when Pleasant was clearly still injured but played anyway (slapping no less) instead of resting and healing. Who knows? And that's the point--none of us know the whys and attacking players or other posters doesn't change that. at all.
Same with the freshmen. Casual thinks all the freshmen except Heavener suck--I think that makes no sense but its an outlier opinion regardless of why its an opinion. Honestly it is a moot point because they never played anyway so absolutely no college basis to argue they would suck or that they would be "superstars"--THEY DIDN'T PLAY! I too think that if any of them have options once the world series ends we will see most of not all of them in the portal. A couple of them will have options for sure and maybe all of them. They can move on and Casual can get the hefty big girl power he wants. I do think Daniel will probably stick around given her playing time but that could very well change next season after some portal shopping. TigerAssoc felt she was the best to start and it looks like ultimately that is what happened during the season, but I could see them shifting to a big girl power hitting approach given the failures on the back end of the season when it mattered most with runners in scoring position. Daniel may be in jeopardy at that point.
But as for Berzon, I imagine she will find a home and do well where she lands. From what I've heard she is a sweet-but reserved-young lady.
