His next start is on Monday late, and a pen session, depending on the philosophy is either 50-85 throws, I dont see what the issue of "saving him" is. If he started tomorrow then I agree limit his throws, since the strain on his legs and back would probably be to much to comeback from (most guys arms feel fine its the legs that bother them the next day).

I am not a hit and run fan. Helps the defense more than the offense most the time.
