Living in Utah, I rarely get to attend an LSU game in person. While the UCF match up isn't high on my list, this is about as close to home as the Tigers will ever play, so I'm going to make the trip.

What are the best practices for obtaining tickets (i.e. third party sites, scalpers, etc)? Any other game day advice I should keep in mind? What is the rant's sense of how many Tiger fans are headed to Phoenix?

I saw a thread on here recently that tickets were $13. I’d just buy those and move to a better seat once the game started.

Down to $10 on Stub Hub.

As the others say, stubhub is pretty much risk free and tickets there are cheap as hell, unless you want to sit on the 50 yard line in the lower bowl. I would buy from stubhub.

Go tailgate. Have a blast.

There will be plenty of people just giving away lower bowl tickets.

I’m in a similar situation.

Bought my tickets on StubHub. They’re not great seats, but we’ll have a blast. My kiddos haven’t seen an LSU game in person since they were little.

One of my best friends is a ticket broker. Will give you a great tip. Always or I should say 99% of the time wait until the last minute. Usually day before or day of the event. The brokers start panicking and want to at least get something for their tickets. He said there were only a few events in his time that this didn't happen. The Saints NFC CG vs the Vikings as it was the best chance the Saints ever had on going to the Super Bowl and prices never went down. And he said the Saints at home this year the same is happening. But otherwise always wait. All those sellers on stubhub are individuals or brokers who speculated and are trying to make money. Or individual brokers who own season tickets

One example this past week is the Bucs Saints game. Since I live in St pete I wanted to go. I waited until I was walking up to the stadium and jumped on stubhub app on my phone. I got 40 yard line clubs for 65$ each. Face was over 200. I have done this since he clued me in years ago. They make money because people dont want to wait. But there are always tickets available.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

I may try waiting until later. It just feels weird booking a flight and hotel for a specific event, without securing access to the event too!

They will be cheaper shite the week before the game. You can also find the tailgate package deal for cheap as well. StubHub and some of those consolidator sites are your friend

I'm doing the same thing, already bought my plane ticket, reserved a hotel room and rental car but waiting until the last minute to by a ticket to the game.

I stopped buying tickets through LSU several years ago. Unless you're a large donor, your tickets will suck. I have been buying tickets for neutral site games, including bowls, through Stubhub. Since supply usually exceeds demands for these games, you can find better tickets for the same or lower price. I have never had an issue with Stubhub tickets.

Will there be much of a pregame tailgate/atmosphere for an 11am kickoff after New Year's Eve celebrating?

We're staying in Tempe and I'm guessing we won't be arriving at the stadium very early.
