Few things I haven't seen mentioned with Cabrera’s walk off.....

We were down by 4 runs and it could have been 5 if not for some clutch pitching and defense in the top of the 9th.

Then, when the pressure was on, our batters didn't panic and got a key walk and hits off of 3 different pitchers. It was truly a team rally - the tying run was on 3rd and could score with a pop fly.

Finally, when Cabrera blew a bubble gum bubble while waiting for the pitch, I thought there is no way this kid can be that cool in this situation, he must be nervous as hell on the inside....then BAM!!! - he remained that cool from the "see you later gaze" to the bat flip.

And if Tenn doesn't have the shift on they likely get a double play on Beau Jordan's grounder.

Also if you go back and look, after he takes the 1st fastball at 95 or whatever, he started shaking his head and smiling like "that ain't shite, I got this". I was shocked at the reaction given the pressure of the situation and him being a freshman

Their shifts didn't work out for them all weekend. I don't know why they were putting shifts on Beau and Duplantis, two guys that are known to hit it the opposite way, especially Duplantis.

I've heard major league pitchers say nothing gets them madder than watching a routine grounder roll into the outfield because a shift was on and no one was there to field it.

Shifts in college are not going to work as much as MLB because a shift is also dependent on the pitcher being pretty precise in order to get them to hit it to a certain spot.

I’m still shocked that they pitched to Cab. First base was open, righty on lefty match up, winning run was on second anyway. Load them up and pitch for a double play. I know Slaughter was semi hot, but I’d take my chances with him rather than DC. JMO

ETA- glad they did hindsight

I'm pretty sure as Daniel rounded 3rd he told the 3rd baseman "bye bitch" and put the middle finger on the back of his helmet. Watch it again if you can. Also, when Cabrera was skipping into home watch coach Cain doing the same thing it was funny.

Is it possible to flip off someone with all 5 fingers up? That’s what I saw when he adjusted his helmet rounding third.

Pitchers in MLB don't pitch into the shifts.

The hitters that get shifted have shown they want to pull the ball regardless of location, with their oppo hits being accidental.

These teams are hoping they go the other way, because it damages their production. These hitters then abandon what got them there in the first place.

Ted Williams had this figured out a long time ago.

along with his 4 other fingers. Quit making this into something that it isn't

That’s definitely good logic there, I guess they were thinking he’s a freshman and 0-4 on the day. Let’s pitch to him.

I still don’t know why they pulled their closer. They had the lead. Why have a closer? Now you just shook some confidence from two of your pitchers.

They did and paid for it big time.
