He deserved a raise, no doubt. I think it was a bit much a lil to early. If he maintains it, yes he should get paid da big money!

Dumb comment. They are obviously working on more than O but you start at the top. Raymond also recently got his because the timing was right for him. You don't understand much about how business works.

Good. He deserves to be paid among the highest in the country. He just whipped 8 out of the top 10 highest paid coaches in the country.

Then why do we make so much fun of the contract Aggie gave Jimbo? He pretty much did the same thing.

frick out of here! The man earned every dime

He earned $42 million by winning the natty in 2019? Hell no! He earned his 2019 salary and bonuses, though. And he earned a nice pay raise. But to guarantee it for six years is idiocy - the kind of idiocy that Scott Woodward is becoming notorious for.

Why not wait and see if Orgeron can sustain the success he had in 2019. I do agree he should have a bump in salary, but to give him this kind of increase is ludicrous. Generally you give this kind of increase to retain a coach, does anyone really think Orgeron is planning to leave his “Dream Job”.

If LSU didnt reward O with a big contract extension and raise when would they ever reward a coach with a raise and extension like this?
He just gave us the most accomplished season in cfb history. I just hope this doesnt change the model of going after top notch coaches.
How many coaches in cfb have proven they can take a team to the mountain top of cfb? O deserved the raise. At some point we have to show everyone we are all in on football like Bama.

You are probably right about him not going anywhere else beside LSU, but the fact of the matter is it was a good business decision to reward him for accomplishing what you and many others thought impossible after 3 years. Scott Woodward is nobody’s fool and he did the right thing. LSU is a top 5- job in the country and the pay goes with it when you accomplish success. He has more than earned the raise and the new contract, period.
