At the beginning of last year O said half the signing class was going to end up first round picks. How many were actually playing at the end of the season?

But we won’t have quality depth is my point. People act like we have a Bama DL where we are 8 deep with potential top 2 round NFL talent. We aren’t. We have 4 somewhat proven guys (Lawrence is the only all superstar), 1 guy who we think can be good if he gets his head out of his arse and the rest are either true freshman or sophomores who didn’t sniff the field down the stretch last year even with the lack of depth and barely get talked about.

Based on what

I like the starters better

Our backup ends are more athletic

We’ll also see some of our LBs out their hand in the dirt on passing situations too

If this is true it’s O’s fault and he needs fired.

10-2 or better plus NY6 or better this year or he’s a failure.

Well, that also kills the argument of them being good, because nobody has seen them play yet.

Based on them being raw players coming straight out of high school and based on the returning player’s development being described as “coming along” for the past year and a half

We didn’t have backups in some games last year!! That’s the point! We had no one behind our starters in the MISS st game and Troy. How can you say our depth will not be better this year?!

Yes we did have backups, although in the MSU game we lost guys leaving us with 4 guys to rotate three spots in the second half (when we were already down double digits). Tough, no doubt.

If no one gets hurt or ejected this year, sure we’ll have a couple more bodies.

But we aren’t dressing out 11 DL every game.

If we dress out 8 and a couple get hurt and one gets ejected like they did against MSU all of a sudden we’re down to five guys, one of which is a true freshman.

Depth vanishes quick once guys start dropping.

We didn’t go into the MSU game with no backups, and we had five available all game against Troy. TROY

Agreed.

But I do think he’s another NT. I feel we’re extremeky stacked there, but end is what worries me a bit.

Rashard is a boss obviously, but I really think we needed Fehoko at that other end as ideal.

Logan can do it but at 315 even he is probably better suited inside. I even wonder why we don’t move Logan inside to keep Fehoko at end but like I said I won’t argue O’s decision there.

Obviously the ideal was Ed at nose flanking him with Rashard and Fehoko. Then Logan can sub wherever followed by I guess Farrell.

Agree with Earl too about having LBs slide down in certain packages, which I had already mentioned.

Fehoko was brought here to play NT in the first place. So yes he is actually very good at this position. He's one of the strongest DLman. He doesn't move and has taken on 2 OL his whole career. We have lots more depth than last year. Somw people are so stuck on our staff being incompetent that they can't see passed their own arse.

Our DL will be much better off this year then we were last year. As long as big Ed stays in shape then he should be better off. Fehoko is only moving to NT for the fall so he'll be taking on 2 blockers the entire fall and should help him come the season. Logan has lost tons of weight this offseason and should be much quicker and last much longer than he did last year. Then you have Shelvin, Ferrell, Thomas and the freshman.

He did stand out imo. But after being here for so long and just producing in the second half of a down year, it’s expected to be overshadowed.

What? Heron didn’t play in September? He only played in the 5 games LSU won?

But... but... but. Depth wasn’t an issue!

Can’t have it both ways. ??

This is going to add more speed on the D-line. We have all camp and the first 2 game before we get to a dominant offensive line in Auburn. I think this move can work and will really pay off when big Ed gets back fully healthy to wreck Auburn.

This is off by a lot. Bama doesn't even have "8" deep at the moment so there's that one and secondly, it's called player development. You think the players that didn't see the field at the end of the year didn't get better throughout spring and summer so this year they can see the field? C'mon bro...

Rosenthal is physically gifted but very raw. Technique needs a lot of work.

Davin Cotton is a little undersized but is the most ready to contribute this year. Nelson Jenkins will likely RS but if he comes along fast he may get some snaps too. Livingston needs do shed weight. Can’t see him playing much this year at his size.
