He needs more work at practice. He hasn't been the same since he had that huge start last year. :soundofplanegoingdown:

Why don't we just trade him for a better closer?

I still think PM is waiting for a chance to move Jones to the weekend rotation.

I like the current bullpen roles, with maybe Broussard getting more looks. I'm with Josh, I'd like to see Eades get a shot closing.

I also like how some of the guys have carved out their roles in relief. This was really Peterson's first bad outing. I wonder if Reed is even going to get an inning this year and if Cunningham is going to throw again. Bradshaw is pretty much a lost cause, at least until the SEC tourney when he'll pull a CG 2 hitter out of his arse like someone does for LSU every year.

Reed

i honestly forgot this cat was still on the team. i doubt he sees significant innings, same with cunningham

gausman
mccune
alsup
jones
berry
eades
dykstra
broussard

i see those guys doing the heavy lifting for most of the season. Maybe peterson, cotton, ott, rumbelow, and forrest garrett too

i agree with that list, but it's going to cause a lot of complaints on the rant. People don't realize just how many new faces we have on this team. Expectations got a little out of control. That list you made has one guy on it that was here last year, and he wasn't a contributor.

I was against changing closers after Friday, but you really have to try something else now.....its become too much of a liability.

Hate to say I told you so.

Something is obviously wrong with Ott.

I'm actually thinking Eades gets the shot at closing.

This is correct. The coaches love what they see in Eades. It may not work out, but this is what they are planning.

And to think some people on this board were saying he was going in the top 10 rounds and arguing that with a sub 90 mph fastball he would be a high draft selection.

ive always thought it's better to have a fireballer at closer

ott was amazing not throwing hard, but you see what happens when he's off, he's BP. even if eades is off, it's possible he can still blow it by someone

They are planning on redshirting Reed. Unless we have multiple pitchers go down with injuries, Reed will not pitch this year.
