I know he is a dang good catcher but is it just me or does he not try to frame a close pitch at all, seems like most close pitches he instantly puts his not down and throws the ball back to the pitcher.

Swampy, it may just be me about the framing but I disagree with the best all around player.. Watson is probably the best all around player

As good as his arm is, his receiving is average at best

A good catcher doesn’t frame shitty pitches.

He tried to frame one curve ball so much that it caused him to miss it and a run score.

Don’t be dumb, lil darryl.

He let at least 2 balls get past him tonight. He needs to learn to block the ball much better than he does.

{quote]He let two balls past him tonite[/quote]

It wouldn’t have changed the outcome to the game tonite but in a closer game it will......

Though we are spoiled with watching previous excellent defensive catchers ( Pap) he does need to concentrate more to the pitchers’ individual tendencies to be wild with certain pitches

His receiving is pretty terrible. He's a good arm with a decent bat.
