Between Blackledge and Danielson, best color in CFB. Brent and Herby were just plain horrible earlier in the day.

Thoroughly enjoyed Nessler/Blacklidge call tonite...and not just because of game results. They are classy respectful and have good insight...wish they called more LSU games...less BS and agenda pushing imho...
Totally agree. Those two are great at there roles and have great chemistry. Best in the business. I would contribute out of my own pocket to a fund for those guys to call every LSU game. It's nice to see a game where I don't have to tolerate the commentators as I do with Lundquist or Musberger/Herbstreit and actually get to watch a crew that enhances the viewing experience as Nessler/Blackledge do.

Gus Johnson was fantastic doing the UCLA Nebraska game.
Gus Johnson compared UCLA to baby back ribs: "They're young, they're tender, but on the field they're sweet."

Mussberger is the worst by far. I had to turn the sound off during the UF/TAMU game.

The best in the business, and there's no one else that is even close to those two.

Nessler and Blacklidge have always been good. And not just tonight. Blacklidge especially. For starters, they keep the hyperbole in check. They praise the good and point out the bad, but there's none of that over-the-top, over-excited or way-too-early-to-rush-to-judgment aspect of it that plagues Musberger or Verne.

Oh, and to the guy dissing Franklin...Ron Franklin was the best ever. Nessler is getting close. And on color, I think is Blacklidge slightly better than Danielson and Herbstreit, because both of the latter suffer a bit from being too excitable.

I tend to agree. Keith Jackson, though, could infuse the most excitement. I kind of like Mike Tirico among today's callers, too.

I agree........BUT, Nessler misjudged UW gains on first down several times in the 2nd half, by 4 and 5 yds. I think he was feeling sorry for them and wanted to see them sustain a drive.

Agreed, but I was disappointed neither mentioned that Herman Johnson was the largest baby born in Louisiana.

People around here hate Gary Danielson but I find he's really insightful most of the time

he is insightful, but he's also biased at times... and that's why people hate him....

what i want out of a play by play duo is for them to know every detail about the schematics of football, for them to know a little about the players/teams, and to not show any obvious SWAY towards one team or the other.... getting excited at a big play for one team, and not for the other sends the signal that you have a preference for one team over the other....

no one wants that....

Was thrilled when I found out he was doing the UF game.

My favorite CFB announcers are women. Especially when they try to sound like men.
