Does anyone have any insight as to why Fargas was not able to get the job done at LSU. She took over a program that was in decline, and she did OK at first. I do believe that she is a good coach, but her inability to recruit did her in.Why couldn't she get top-flight players to come to LSU. Anyway, good luck to her. I am excited about Mulkey's coming back to Louisiana, and I am sure that she will get us back on the right track soon.

She struggled pretty badly to recruit. It caught up with her in recent years

Van had his issues but left the team in a good spot talent wise, Nikki had her great success early on with them

I think she actually was a pretty good coach. She just didn't surround herself with elite enough talent to compete in the SEC consistently. And why she couldn't recruit great players will forever be a mystery.

IDK shite about her as a person, and almost as little about her as a coach. But to me,

#1 your record says what you are, especially after 10 years.

And #2, when you don't have a burning desire to coach then it just won't come together. She should be entering her prime coaching years, yet she is leaving the court. I am sure she dgaf about coaching young people, returning to coaching or anything like that.

But its women's basketball and idk shite so.

Recruiting, lazy, and her assistants were not very good!

We didn't have good enough players. Bottom line.

She didn't like to recruit and failed to make connections with high school coaches. Her "x's and o's" were actually pretty good. She game planned well, just didn't get the talent here that she needed to compete.

The past is the past. She destroyed the program (mostly through complete neglect in recruiting and community outreach) over the past decade with the complicity of Joe Alleva. Time to move forward now!

Nikki never wanted a STAR player. It’s like she always wanted Diamond in the rough talent.

Unless you are a truly, truly great coach, you have to recruit. You have to constantly sell the program. Some people just aren't good at that.

She was a good schematic coach, but not good enough to where she could just take any 12 ladies and turn them into champions.

I think it all went downhill the second she ended up pregnant.
