How long will it take for Nike, UA, Jordan to start selling a full face shield for football helmets and a dry fit type mask and allow them to be used in football?

This looks kind of awesome actually. And may even eliminate or reduce face mask penalties!

Might be a bit hot though.

Heat would be a big concern as well as the visor fogging up I would imagine. Honestly, I think I like the one Lou posted a little more.

Unless it is sealed tight everywhere - neck, ear holes, etc. - that is not going to work. Expelled breath will take the path of least resistance and bring droplets with it.

Unless they have some type of fog proof coating that thing will be useless.

JJ Watt said he wouldn’t play if he has to wear that

What happened to the last pro bowler who refused to wear a NFL issued helmet?

So the helmet pictured wouldn't work, but homemade cloth masks do work? Can’t make this shite up.

Seems to me that they could use the same type of ski mask that they wear in cold weather games in places like Green Bay And Buffalo but out of Dri-Fit material.

That’s never gonna work. those that have never played simply don’t understand the amount of oxygen and airflow needed to perform. Requiring athletes to wear this would risk huge health liability for a player heat stroking out and or death. Can you imagine the size lawsuit on a top NFL player or even for a collegiate athlete losing future/potential earnings.

Anybody that proposes something like that has never played football. You would smother in an enclosed helmet system...

That, and you wouldn't be able to see shite. Good way for a serious injury to happen bc you didn't see someone coming, or rolling into you from a blind spot.

If only many players already played with face shields...oh wait, they do.

If only face shields were something the NFLPA actively negotiated for in the last round of collective bargaining...oh wait, they were.

Just have all the players play from within a human sized hamster ball. Problem solved.
