In some circles he's regarded as a supreme arse kisser/jock sniffer. If so, it's served him well. He's made some hires to manage the department and got Verge a nice raise. That's why he wants to discontinue donations to the University, he needs that money. Is he a great AD? Like the Zen Master said, we'll see

LSU is having a banner year in sports and Alleva was still hated for one. And don’t think it’s just the rant because if the behind the scene guys were good with him he’d still be here.
Then there’s the matter of the Duke Lacrosse team and Alleva caved to the mob. He did the same with Wade to a degree only the mob was the media.
Woodward did a great job at Washington, hired Peterson. He made to great hired at A&M, what LSU fans and ranttards think about Fisher and his contract is not the same as what the people at A&M think (next year he has to produce however).

All these morons crying about him hiring Jimbo, he also pulled Chris Peterson away from Boise State while at Washington. For those clueless idiots, Peterson continuously turned down better opportunities than Washington until Woodward.

Why do LSU fans love Woodward? Seriously? Well first thing he did before he even got to Lau campus for his Lsu contract was that he fricked Texas A&m giving Jimbo an enormous contract of what the guy wanted and Mr Woodward already had an idea he would be the LSU AD very soon. He saw the way how LSU prior athletic director operated so he put Aggies in a jam for years to come before he is improving LSU all across the board in everything he does.
