That was 10 years ago and it certainly wasn't some violent crime. I wouldn't doubt as a first offender that his record has been expunged. What do you have against giving a man a second chance?

He just off of probation in 2013. There’s no such thing as expungement for Federal offenses, only Presidential Pardons. Little soon to be working in a P5 football program, don’t you think? Not to mention being a liaison with academics without a degree. You call this qualified?

Makes sense. Just curious as to what his deal is.
You can tell the people that it affects they don’t have an answer or the answer bothers them. Truth hurts.
So far I’ve gathered he’s mostly a bitch boy that was given a job because he was owed a favor.

I'm surprised at the number of posters in this thread who seem indifferent to the fact that Orgeron's personal assistant is a convicted felon who lacks a degree. As you stated, Federal convictions and actually all felony convictions don't qualify for an expungement. The fact that this was even mentioned shows the nonchalant attitude that some appear to have regarding his employment.
It's quite sad that Orgeron hand selected someone who has a felony conviction and lacks a degree to be a liaison between LSU and it's recruits, recruits parents, HS Coaches, media etc.. I find myself questioning the character of Orgeron even more now since learning about Derek's history and his close relationship with Orgeron
