The only difference is that we lost 1 game on the receiving end of the rule and then lost another game on the giving end

We were told how stupid we were...that the rule was if the QB had started lifting the ball up with the intent to pass the ball.
OK. That's the rule. Shough didn't fumble.

The league would say Goffs hand was going forward so the fact that Goff ball went backward is irrelevant. Because his throwing motion started before he was hit.
Shough arm was not going forward so his was just a fumble.
Reality is they were both fumbles but that's the distinction the league will make

I thought Shuck's arm was in the act of passing AND going forward. How else did the ball go forward?
