Well one reason is they have the best looking guy in blogging Barstool founder Dave Portnoy as an alum. That's probably at least 90 percent of the reason why Michigan baseball is playing for a title.

They were awful this season, literally one of the last 4 in the tourney. Got dominant starting pitching, good defense and timely hitting.

Like the old saying, find a way to get in, then get hot at the right time.

Didn't help the Bruins. Portnoy is a fricking chump.

And you believe they allow their student athletes to miss classes in order to trek down to Arizona in the fall and winter JUST to practice baseball in warmer weather?

It’s amazing what can happen when you pitch and hit well at the same time.

Explain Coastal Carolina, Stony Brook, FSU this year considering their season.

Sometimes you get hot and things go your way.

I don’t have an opinion, but I thought the thread was about Michigan. Are you just looking for an argument?

Instead they have that young dynamic motivator that all Michigan kids love playing for.

I bet their hitting coach didn’t even play for Michigan. Pathetic.

Hell, it's pretty simple. They pitch well, they field well, they don't make stupid mistakes on the basepaths, and they hit the ball when runners are on base/in scoring position, which means they get time hits to score runs. They have good plate discipline, they don't swing at bad pitches, they make contact without trying to hit a home run on every swing. They're a well coached, disciplined team...unlike LSU.
hiw many Michigan games have you watched.

Without looking you know you couldn’t name three players on their team.

Why do you people write these novels that say nothing.

Your assessment: Vandy will best em in three, Vandy may sweep them, Vandy may lose to them.

Hot at the right time and a couple of good arms. They stayed out of the losers bracket and never had to face the serious depth issues they have.

Not to mention drew two PAC teams that were awful. UCLA is probably the worst number 1 seed in memory.

This year they got hot at the right time. In the past, not much success. Haven’t been in CWS finals since 1962.
