Well they in fact do if the federal government is providing grants to said universities.

But this Executive Order really "calls on the appropriate governing body to update these rules to restore financial stability and protect the future of all college sports, including women’s and Olympic sports".

But keep getting your panties in a wad over the Order asking for what everyone has been asking for.

Didn't he say that schools not following this simply loses Federal funding?

It’s a solid plan. What we have now is absurd.

“exception for grad transfers” no one will have a problem with this. Can still transfer twice, just need to get a degree.

Oh we found the person who thinks Ole Miss player eligibility should be determined by a hand picked Mississippi judge..

Sounds like a great fricking plan.

Seriously man, you use the word "liberal" instead of calling out a mentally ill dictator's "executive order" which has 0 legal grounds. Might want to review the US Constitution because Donnie has 0 right to try to do what he is trying., The courts will laugh this out of the courtroom

is that how Executive Orders work now?

The legal ones can have bite to them. But the ones where the executive branch has 0 authority aren't worth the paper or napkins that this one and most of his other lunatic ones are scribbled on. Wonder if he used a sharpie?

Somebody needs to. College athletics is an integral part of the United States in many ways and it's being ruined by lack of action and authority

Presidents are capable of doing many things. They have teams and people who assist with efforts.

I know this can be confusing after seeing previous administrations but it is possible.

Seems like it may mean something until a court intervenes.

The problem in this case is that courts have already intervened. He cannot undo court rulings by Executive Order. The one-time transfer rule was invalidated by court rulings. It will take Congressional legislation, not EO, to re-instate it. Court rulings have already allowed extra years of eligibility for players like Pavia and Chambliss. Again, it will take legislation, not EO to supersede those rulings.

Oh look, another uninformed lemming.

What are the courts going to laugh out of the courtroom exactly?

Presidents are NOT capable of issuing executive orders like this nonsense once which has 0 legal ground behind it. Donnie must be setting a record for executive orders and most of them are totally ignored. I believe he just did one the other day trying to get rid of early voting or some such. Yeah, Donnie, good luck on that one since the states run ALL elections...NOT the federal government. Time for the 25th amendment to be invoked because not only has he been mentally ill (malignant narcissist) but also he is showing signs of dementia.

You are so blinded by hate and media manipulation you have no idea what is going on.

this case yes. It’s not enforceable.

He knows this. Its a first step in fixing so many wrongs. It lets us see exactly who the lunatics are and starts a discussion.

Guess you didn't read the articles about this. They mentioned it would be challenged in the courts. And I will add it will be upended soon thereafter. You're the one who posts without doing any research. BTW, I bet you are sssooo stupid you think he is going to turn over the 14th amendment also related to birthright citizenship. Bet the vote is a minimum of 7-2 against him on that one. You know he loses about 95% of his orders right. He has a worst court record than Hamilton Burger of Perry Mason.

No you are ignorant about the powers of the executive branch, and if anyone is being brainwashed by the "media", it would be fools like yourself who must think Faux News is a news source alongside the other ultra-rightwing propaganda sites.

You you are right about this. The media is the enemy of the people and you are a perfect example of why.

I read the actual text of the order. That being said if you knew how ignorant you sound on this topic you would be embarrassed.

But you keep on relying on that media manipulation and spin.

So, specifically, what are the courts going to laugh out of the courtoom? Specifically.

Wouldn’t it be funny if this executive order made Trinidad Chambliss ineligible?

Someone ALREADY answered this ? The reason that NIL is allowed, multiple transferred are allowed, etc is that the courts have already RULED on this as the poster mentioned. Oh, and BTW, these went to the USSC also. I will give you the simple explanation because you don't seem too bright.

Unless you have anti-trust protection like MLB and the NFL does, you can NOT restrict a person's ability to earn money. It is called "restraint of trade". The ONLY reason some of the pro leagues can get away with salary caps is they have exemptions from anti-trust laws.
