I wonder who Dr Pepper is signing this year after they went all in on Clemson DJ Uiagalelei last year

Wouldn’t doubt there are clauses about being on the team though. His NIL looses value if he isn’t on team

NIL deal was paying him for his name. As a potential starter for LSU, these companies capitalized off his NIL & compensated him for that. If he stepped away, you’d assume they stop paying him moving forward. If this is the case, he was only compensated for the periods which his name was relevant.
So… what’s the issue here?

It’s against the rules to have a pay for play contract right now on NIL deals

Finally a playa making the most of NIL!

because NIL deals can’t be based on performance
I would think playing football (wherever that is) would be a valid stipulation for an NIL deal. But, I guess I don't know that for sure.

Brennan's name around LSU, Louisiana and Mississippi circles is still good. He can still fulfill those NIL contracts.
no
His name is worthless now.

NIL deals are not paid up front in full. They are spread out throughout the year (quarterly, monthly, etc). If you quit, you don’t get paid for the balance of your contract, it’s that simple.

Not for the people who started it. They winning, but the rest are not.
