Many people place them on such a high pedestal, understandably so, because these guys are great athletes and represent our school to the nation. But when you think about it, most of them are younger than alot of the fans, and they are basically kids. Just wondering if anyone saw players around town, and how they were in normal, everyday situations.

I used to see alot of the players in the spot in the quad by the library, but never really talked to any of them; I did not see many just outside of campus (bars, restaurants, stores, etc.).

I always would see Charles Scott at Bogie's and talked to him whenever I saw him. He is a very down to earth guy, and really nice. He never gave off that "better-than-everyone" attitude, and happily talked to us whenever we approached him.

Just trying to find some different topics to talk about while we count down the days till September!

I saw Chuck at AT&T in Towne Center. This was a few months back. Very nice guy. When we started talking about the Tigers, I said something to the effect of "Well, hopefully we get the defense fixed this year" and he responded with "Well hopefully the guy on the field won't be throwing pick 6's every time we get the ball" I had to chuckle at him throwing the QB under the bus like that.

I saw Ryan Perrilloux yelling a cursing at the manager at Ninfa's once. Seriously.

I saw Shaq and Geert Hammick walking around outside the stadium once before a football game. Geert didn't say much, but Shaq gave me a high five and grinned real big. Cool dude!

I saw Demetrius Byrd park his car in the middle of W. Parker right before reaching Burbank so he could talk to someone, with traffic backing up all the way to Highland. He then proceeded to curse at everyone honking their horns.

i used to see alot of them back in my day. They have a very rare lot in life - to be so ridiculously famous and glorified at such a very young age. Id say they handle it as well as can be expected. the ones that arent as talkative, to be honest, might be shy more so than elitist. I know it may sound silly to say someone is shy that plays like a beast in front of 93,000 people and a global audience - but its the truth. They know everyone that walks by knows them and loves watching them play. how do you respond to that?

Go to Mikes in tigerland any saturday night, lots of football players go there. Talked to chris davenport and Randle last week and also had to tell Blake Dean several times to stop hitting on my girl.

I saw Demetrius Hookfin at a department store one time. Someone apparently stole some clothes and tried to run out the door. Hookfin went to chase the guy but the guy ran right past him. He used a double move.

waited on greg shaw. nice guy, we talked for a few minutes about how he loved it in louisiana, and how much he hates being confused with ciron black.

Played poker with Ciron Black about three weeks ago at a mutual friend's place. He seemed like a really nice guy and not too shabby of a poker player.

The wife & I ran into J Russel & D Bowe at Dillards one time. DB brought over shirt & pants combos to my wife to ask her if they matched. He like myself evidently has a hard time matching stuff.
