It's about to be cheaper to go to a Saints game, there it is only 25 bucks to park. The prices are way out of whack. They are taking the blue collar fan right out of LSU sports.

Don't bitch anymore about how lame tiger stadium has become because the only ones that can afford it are those that go becuase "it is cool to go" or corporate sponsorships.

Sad day my friends.

I parked by the AG Center at 9 AM for the bama game.

Ive been hearing stuff like this for the last 15 years, basically everytime a change is made....and LSU is still packed on Saturdays. There is ALWAYS less people tailgating for the weaker teams...its been like that as long as ive been going to games. But i seriously doubt it will "dead" for those games....there will still be thousands of people on campus even for NSU and W. Kentucky.

We'll see. I don't think people realize what kind of effect this is going to have just yet. We'll know for the 1st home game next year.

The sad thing is I'll be one of the first ones to pay the damn thing because I've been parking my truck on Friday night for 13 years.

Rivals.com Survey

LSU is 18th most expensive season ticket. The prices given are the minimum cost.

Note: LSU is sixth in the SEC behind Auburn(4th overall), Georgia(7), Tennessee(8), Alabama(9), and South Carolina(12).

I drive in from Houston, get a hotel room, tailgate, tickets and gas. I am $600 out before I buy my first Tiger Water for $4. They are sucking the gas out of the thousands of us who cross the Sabine River on a weekly basis.

I might be mistaken, but I think this is common practice for every game.

yep, you are mistaken!! our lot on highland rd and tower dr was shut down by 8am. that is 6 1/2 hours before game time!! i think the whole "alabama game shut down the campus god awful early thing" was a test for the new parking guidelines. the guard standing at our lot even tried to tell me that it was a paid parking lot!!

Yep. This just means no more $6 poboys and $4 cokes for me. And I won't pay to park, either.

LSU is telling us, in essence, that the football program will always remian competitive. If they do, then LSU can charge us an arm and leg. LSU and Alleva, Vincent, and Ausberry will regret it when the day comes (god forbid) that we go 4-8. If that occurs, much like 1999, you will be able to watch games for an entire season what it usually costs to buy one ticket. And NO ONE is going to pay 40 dollars to park to watch a 4-8 team play.

My section of the stadium has gotten steadily worse over the past few years, and we've said goodbye to a lot of long-time ticket holders. I got asked to sit down for the first time during the WVU game this year.

I promise you, when I'm gone, Sec. 303 will be a little less enthusiastic, which is bad enough already.

So it's safe to say with these "parking" changes, LSU will move into the top 10. Nice.

I was on campus for the Alabama game and it was dead. I don't care if it was a day game, that is no excuse. If LSU is successful, they will be scheduled for more day games, so get used to it. Further, IN the stadium, while beating Bama, it wasn't as loud as it should have been. I would compare the excitement to beating a decent team 10 years ago.

The "fandom" in the stadium is dying. I think these parking decisions will only make it worse.

I think it already is cheaper. I pay less for 10 Saints tickets in the terrace than I do for my LSU season tickets in the NEZ, plus there are free places to park downtown if you dont mind a little walk.

Of course, the state subsidizes the Saints while LSU football effectively subsidizes the state, by funding other athletics and kicking some back to the school.

At the end of the day the $$ has to come from somewhere and I'd rather it be "voluntary" parking charges than higher ticket prices.

Likely not, but all it takes is one bad season of bounces. Funny thing is that if Dooley wouldn't have sent an army on to the field or maybe even UNC completing that last second pass (I know...ifs and buts), would this raise/hike have come at all?

LSU is making hay while the sun shines. I can guarantee that everyone in charge understands that if the football team is not successful, donations will come to a halt. They are building and updating facilities now while the funding is available and while fans are willing to pay. Everything they're doing now helps to prolong the success of the program and stave off the 4-8 seasons so many people on here seem to desire.

Im sorry 92000 fans didn't meet your expectations...but that stadium was loud as hell. Ask the bama players...some commented on how loud it was.
