93 for 155
1,452 yards
60.0%
9 TD
1 INT

Admittedly, its been at best an unspectacular season with literally games we did not complete passes to a WR or completed 1 or 2, but efficient year for him so far nonetheless...keyword so far as we all know the Alabama could torpedo this momentum pretty quickly.

Have to say, Canada has seemingly improved a very average talented qb in Etling.

Canada seems to be improving which is great. Canada with a good dual threat will be interesting

He is giving him stuff he can deal with.

But he relies too much on WR getting jump balls.

Two words can only explain how a qb's rating can get better yet have no WR's catch any passes

And that would be: ole miss

Yeah, he’s scheming around Etling’s limitations. Will have his work most definitely cut out for him these next 2 weeks though.

Is it fair to say that pass protection has been spotty?

Definitely fair to say that but so has some decision making and his arm strength.

Not a lot to like in the passing game.

Those stats hide the truth though.

He is throwing for less than 200 yards a game and Canada is forced to call only the safest passing plays in the book. Not only that, if his first read isn’t wide open, he panicks.

To top it off, this line probably couldn’t pass protect against a Pop Warner team.

The game in 2 weeks will look exactly like it did the last 2 years offensively, except it will be #5 who can’t gain any yards rather than #7.

The only possible way to beat Bama is with a QB who can beat them when they take away the run. We literally present no threat to do that.

If Bama scores just 2 FGs they win.

He is not good. He is capable. Canada seems aware of his limitations.

We have seen 2 years worth of play from Etling now at LSU. Nothing is unfair or inaccurate about my observations.

Don’t be so sensitive. Jesus.

Sensitive? I'm simply saying facts outweigh your opinion and they do. Compare his passer rating to the QBs of the golden era and he's near the top of the list. Sorry you don't like the way it happens but he gets the job done and does it better than most who've ever played here with less than almost anyone that's ever played here. You people keep blaming Etling when he has no protection and 1 WR to throw to yet still moves the ball effieciently and doesn't turn the ball over ever. You put this guy on the 07 team or 2011 team and we don't come close to losing a game.

There's some dude on the rant that loves to tout Jefferson's stats as proof that he was one of LSU's best quarterbacks during his tenure. Sure, they are facts, and on paper, they look good. But, we all know what a shite show Jefferson was to watch for four years.

I don't think Etling is as bad as Jefferson. I think he's put together way better games than Jefferson, but he still isn't any good. That pass to Gage, when Gage ran into Drake Davis was absolutely retarded. He has some good passes when they're there completely. When they're not, or he has to make another read, he's done.
