I agree Miles shouldnt start, this might be the worst comparision ive seen. Miles=Harris? Come on, think about it then get back to me.

But the 18 pass sample size absolutely does not make him Brandon Harris.
I pray he isn't.

Maybe, maybe not. But what other information could you use to determine this? Or determine that he should start over Etling?
Brennan made a couple of nice throws against meh competition. He’s also made some poor ones against meh competition. That’s all we know so I really don’t get the rush to put him in

Why is that? Think about everything leading up to Harris' start against Auburn. Harris was electric and was labeled as the future. He took over for a struggling Jennings against New Mexico St. and almost won the Mississippi St game for us. Everyone wanted Harris to be the starter. He starts against Auburn and he gets absolutely shell shocked. After that game Harris was never the same.
ETA: Myles should not start, hell, barring injury he shouldn't be in the game unless it is already decided. i.e. LSU is winning big or Aubums is winning big.

Brennan/narcisse/mcmillan after watching Etling last week he's obviously not ready for sec play. Find someone who can make plays

Honestly I would like to see McMillen play at this point .If Brennan isn’t ready , Why not ? Etling has been horrid in any games that he faces a legit defense. What can you lose, we already lost to Troy for homecoming and got shellacked by state. Honestly the season is already considered a “rebuilding” year even though that sort of thing shouldn’t really exist with the amount of talent we recruit .
Just FYI I honestly like Etling, he has a ton of heart , leaves it all on the field , etc. but let’s not kid ourselves either . We aren’t competing for anything real with etling at the helm.

I don't know what Lowell Narcisse is looking like in practice but he can't be throwing the ball much worse than Etling. It would be interesting to see him doing those designed QB runs Etling was doing last week against Florida.

Playing at Jordan Hare compared to Tiger Stadium is totally different
In what way, other than partisan officiating? The same teams are involved and I have every reason to believe that right now Auburn is a better football team than LSU

For those who keep saying not to rush him in or that he shouldn't play at all, what do you think will change between now and next year with him other than weight gain with extremely limited game experience?
Do you honestly believe if he never took another snap this season, he'll be more ready because he got more practice and gained more weight? Granted he will learn more offense but he likely still won't be more mentally prepared for SEC play or Miami by the beginning of next season. There's really only one way to get acclimated. The speed of the game needs to slow down for a QB, but you have to see that speed and build enough confidence for it to start doing so. Since QBs typically aren't allowed to get hit in practice, it's difficult to simulate. This is one of the reasons why so many struggle year one at point during college.

I totally agree with you. But let me point something out that no one has brought up and that is the position Coach O finds himself in. Coach O has reached critical mass and is between a rock and a hard place. I think O knows exactly how good Brennan is and he also knows he needs experience. But when your coaching future rest with the outcome of every game O does not have the luxury to play a true freshman no matter how good he is and let a 5 year senior sit the bench. It's a no win situation!! You loose with the non productive performance of your senior and everybody wants to know why you don't play the touted freshman. If you play the freshman and loose people will say why the hell did you not play the senior. Sad thing that really puts O in a tough spot is that neither one of them are totally responsible for loosing a game. So coach O has to straddle the fence until the season shakes out one way or the other. Ultimately Brennan will play and he and Canada are the future..

jkyle...I haven't even read the replies but if you've been anywhere near this rancid place you'd know that this has been discussed 187 times and the consensus is Etling is the starter and it should stay that way. And I agree (unbelievably) with that sentiment. Miles isn't physically ready for what Etling will face this weekend.

Etling must start. And Canada should let him loose. Let’s throw the ball around. If he throws a couple of pics, how is that worse than losing 41-7 by a slow suffocation of us running and punting all day?

Brennan isn't close to ready for SEC ball
