Though I will say, one play on third down, there was a receiver in the flat wide open but he chose to throw it deep. Also he overthrew a receiver once, but other than that, Played much better than Harris

Difference is night and day. BH blacks out every time he drops back for a pass. Etling actually makes progressions and trusts himself.

He was successful with some play calls at first. I liked the way they allowed him to just drop back, instead of running play action. When they went back to the traditional offense he was average at best

This. He wasn't perfect but he's a big improvement over Harris.

If by traditional offense you mean run, run, 3rd and long pass deep, it is hard to have success for any QB.

Drew Brees looks average at best in the "traditional offense".

I'm looking forward to next week and seeing Etling under center with LF7 back in the line up.

I foresee an offensive monster game against MSU.

I was absolutely certain that none of our QBs could outplay Harris, but it seems once again it requires a qb developed by another coaching staff to be successful in our offense.

Good pocket presence.

Needs to work on moving the chains. If he sticks to that we will be fine.

OL needs to block better.

He threw two early balls that were dropped that would have been BIG gains. Seemed to lose his rhythm in second half.

Moves around in the pocket and keeps his vision downfield have not seen that in a while.

Take what defense gives us and i think he is smart enough to realize this and start doing it.

I would happily settle for: Etling, Co-QB of an SEC championship team

This certain aspect reminds me of another QB from Purdue.

Not to say they are comparable in any way.

I was impressed with the way he moved around the pocket.

My Biggest concern. They just don't look like they are gelling at all.
